Contacting Craig about Low-Turbulence Valve & sniper valve

I sent PPS a message via their “contact us” regarding their AC valves.

I’ve been wanting to try a few different aftermarket, non-WGP made valves. Since I have always had luck with Palmer products accepting my nasty CO2 addition, I figured I would give them a go-

On his site, it says “out of stock” for the unregulated CO2 LT valve, but “in stock” for the regular.

I didn’t know if anyone had experience with either of the valves and could tell me if there is any difference in the two other than how they are sprung?

Also from what I’ve gathered in the Palmer’s section of the armory, making a phone call is the best way to reach PPS, am I correct in this from your recent experiences?

I ordered some rock/stab rebuild kits from them recently and had no delays with getting the product.

    Thangs again folks!

There's no store anymore - as far as I know, Craig is selling off remaining inventory - so I don't know if calling will get you anywhere.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Oh no! I had hope he would set up shop again!

I guess it’s time to order regardless

I have ordered quite a few things from them this year, and aside from some OOS items that were discovered received them all.
It did take awhile though for some shipments. SO if you are in a rush it might be a problem, but otherwise you should be GTG.

No rush on my end- just gather items for winter builds.

He had a really nasty divorce that helped close out the company and they sold off basically all of their machines. It's all going to be old stock if they have it. I know when I ordered valves from them even before they shut down, it was all older stock and every single one leaked out of the box. And there were 12.

The valves appear to be the same. That being said what performance are you expecting. Because I would not recommend these for 12 gram use as they don’t fix any of the short comings of the sniper platform and I would argue makes the pressure spike and efficiency worse.maybe for constant air unregulated co2 if you’re worried about cup seal longevity with high pressures and extreme temperatures. But otherwise any design claims seem to be really are over hyped. It literally a turbo valve with a slanted port

                    Thanks all for the responses!

cfos00 I assume you were able to get them to seal decently after an O-ring swap?
Also, 12!? If you’re looking to part with one or two PM me- I might want another if I the NOS I ordered works for my (one of many) pre-2k builds.

I had heard a little talk about the personal stuff. I was optimistic after receiving an order and assumed the legend was back machining…

Socalpumpballer I had hoped to try it for 12g play- but I mostly use CA CO2 these days anyway. The big advantage I was hoping for was being able to just run a 4oz or 9oz directly into the vert ASA, or bottomlined w/ a gas-thru and mitigate *some* of the spring/valve/hammer tuning headaches I’ve run into with other builds.

iamthelazerviking Thanks, I’ll reach out next week on FB if need be- I think I got a shipping notification earlier today so I should be all set

I’d like to hear palmers explanation for the valve kit with the springs because the springs are way too light for unregulated use they didn’t seem tuned at all. Also there is no recommended hammer weight. I used everything from stock hammers to super heavy. None were impressive giving good results. Since velocity would be 100% dependent on the IVG there wasn’t any room for adjustment it’s like the valve either wouldn’t open with a loud popping sound signature or slammed open once the spring tension could overcome the unregulated pressure. There was no real in between
