    Converting male stabilizer to female

    Hello,

So I have a project that I wanted to put a female stabilizer on. Unfortunately they are not available in the pressure I need from Palmers and the one I own is a super low pressure one. I have a high pressure one that I figured I could convert so I ordered the female adapter. After pulling it apart I realized I needed to order a valve seat for it as the originally one was a one piece design and the female adapter has a screw in seat. Ordered! So not the issue is, the valve pin that came out of this thing isn’t long enough to go through the whole seat to make contact with the adjuster in the spring stack… can’t for the life of me find a longer one on their site. Anyone have some onsite on this issue or advice.

    thanks
    -Mike

There are two different arrangements of Stabilizers. The Male, Direct, etc and the Female, Inline, etc. The difference is whether the air comes in or goes out of the end.

    Unfortunately, they're not interchangeable.

It could be done, but it would be ugly.

You'd need the cage mount. Then a basic ASA ( I'd recommend an old remote line asa without an on off).

The vasa would be your output. And you are stuck feeding air into the 1/8 npt input.

Here is one I used on my poo build. My brain says yous one of these to a braided line to your gun.

The long reg pins are no longer available on Palmer's site. I robbed one out of a scrap male Stab to use in an inline Stab that I converted to a female Stab.

The male and female Stabs share the same length reg pin. Are you sure you had a male? Or was it one of the other variants?

Also - you should be able to swap the LP piston and spring out for a conventional HP piston/spring into your LP female. If I'm understanding what you currently have in your possession?
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

So here is what I’m working with.

Green is what I’m trying to convert. It’s a Unibody, one piece with caps on both ends and one side hole
which is the output. Parts to left is what’s in it. Pin is not long enough for the brass seat to the right.

The one on the eclipse is low pressure and I can’t find a cap to allow for the high pressure spring. Too low to operate correctly. I’m trying my best not to have to tear it apart to steal the pin in it. I assume the pin is the proper length due to it being female. I purchased this originally to run my sons HighCappa airsoft pistols.

The one pictured on the evolution is the proper version. Looking at this compared to the Unibody green one, they are the same besides the feline tank input compared to the original NTP going into it. I did run it at one point coming off the Asa with a fitting then out to the marker like the Blue cocker pictured so imputed and outputs should be identical with the stock female.

That's an "inline" Stabilizer, not a male, which is probably why you're running into that problem.

You'll need a "long" reg pin, so unless PPS has one hidden away or you can find someone to make one for you, you're going to have to steal one out of a male Stab.

The Stab on your blue Eclipse is also an inline Stab of some sort - looks like a Pebble??? - so that pin likely won't work either.

Why not run the green Stab on the blue Eclipse, but set up like the existing reg?

ahhh so the male and females are longer pin then the inlines are shorter. I found some spare reg pins for an Air America/automag and it last the right length and first. It beveled and I would have to figure out a seal and spring lol. Probably rip apart the LP female and use its parts honestly.

I had the green on the Camo just like the Blue one during mock up but I just like the cage better. Going with the matching look with the Belsales and Eclipse.

Any one know the official deal with Palmers? Just old stock being sold and part time for them I’m assuming? Been out for the scene for awhile. They been quick with the stuff I have purchased so that’s good!
