Typhoon Velocity/input pressures

Got my Typhoon rebuilt and Cycling. Trying to get a decent velocity. What kind of input pressure are you all putting these at- assuming it might be higher with the sheridan guts and all? sweet spotting process? I have a stab on it. its wedgit'd and they do their job 80% of the time with the paint i have. Can't really seem to break the 260 zone though. brought the stab up to 650. adjuster in about halfway.

Some of these typhoons just prefer high pressure, that being said you might be up against the small paint and
Huge bore conundrum.

So go higher? 700-800? The paint is not stupid small and the wedgits are doing their thing. Gotta find my calipers for the barrel, and can get 290 to 300 with a similar barrel and bore sizer combo in other markers, so thinking I should be able to do better.

Jeeze - don't know why I keep thinking of Typhoons as being somehow totally different. I have some springs I can try - good call XEMON. I did bust out the 1000PSI reg for input and brought the stab up to about 800. Seeing better results on velocity. would like to be able to settle it down a little with some spring work though

What valve is in it? Some of the old Typhoons have modified Sheridan valves and you'll want to make sure the ported side is facing up if that's the case.

The biggest thing in my experience has been volume in front of the valve. I gutted my LPR and have an external Rock installed - the gutted LPR acts as a volumizer and improved velocity to the point that I've backed the RVA off completely and just adjust velocity via the Stab. Pretty sure I'm at 500psi or lower but would need to install a gauge again to check.

Its a Palmer valve. Interesting idea on the external Rock, but i bought it for the the looks and not sure I could stomach a strap on rock! Lighter valve spring made all the difference. shooting great now. o-rings for a 4 way rebuild still incoming but its leak free for now. may wait to open that can of worms till its starts leaking !

That's just it....they all are! I've owned and worked on a few and no two were ever alike.

Lighter Valve spring for the win. instantly jumped to the 320's. backing the RVA out almost completely made almost no difference. backing the stab down about a full turn got it in the 290 zone. have to pull the reg and see where the pressure landed.
