    First Strike New Tank Scratched

So I bought the $99 First Strike 15/45 from ANS on boxers day. Just pulled it out of the Scout box. Peeled back the bubble wrap. I'm looking for tank covers. Anyhow, this tank is scratched to hell. Anyone else have this from that batch? Will I be allowed to fill it? Will ANS or First Strike replace it? Check your gear thoroughly when you get it. Lesson learned.... Click image for larger version

That sucks. I just ordered a second one yesterday from Anusgear.

I’ll let you know if I have the same issue. First one was fine.

Prob worth reaching out to them to see if they’ll make it right, but knowing Anusgear, might be tough…

Yup, pretty much why they’re still unloading these so cheaply

Given how bad some old tanks gel coats would crack and apparently be fine to fill I don’t think there will be an issue using the tank. It’s a real piss off that it’s a “brand new tank” though!

I know I bought a first strike scout and the barrel was all scratched and beat up and the detents were no good. I wrote both first strike and anus about it for help. Anus never got back to me. First strike responded wanting pics and said they would make it right. I sent all the pics in and never heard from them again. I followed up a couple times but never heard back.

Lol, I don't especially want $40 as much as a new tank. I have an Immortal 15/45. It's set at 430 psi for my EMF100. I was wanting another set to 800 or whatever the standard on this is(really what is it set at?)

it won't fail hydro and there should be no reason to refuse fill it. cosmetic only, but yeah i'd be pissed it was a return or refurb and that wasn't disclosed.

They've agreed to do an advanced exchange. I notified them it's been shipped and they are shipping me a new one!

Well, I've received my tank. Still 11/21 born date but no scratches. I'm telling you night and day difference between the 2. Very happy with Ansgear and the resolution of this. Now the bigger debate, do you change out the regulator? Just using it for a pump

I tried to remove a regulator from an expired ninja bottle once. Only ever got it half way out. Wound up having ninja finishing removal before they retested it. PIA!

Change out that reg. Multiple people in the north east have had the reg creeping, burst discs popping, fill nipples failing....

Just plan on changing it out.

Well if Ninja is at Living Legends, maybe I'll have them swap it out there to a Prov2
