The Phoenix is for sale now...

The Phoenix is up for sale... $360 without a barrel... I heard the one at Stocktoberfest had issues, so what does MCB think. Cop or not?

Is the only way it pumps like a bolt action? This is the first I’m hearing about this thing at all.

You can pump with the side trigger, the back plate or uh... tug your barrel...

The page has been up for awhile now, but unless it has changed you can't actually add it to cart or purchase yet. It was accidentally enabled a bit back and a few people submitted orders but the markers weren't actually done anyway.

I thought it was pretty cool when I saw it at Slim's Stocktoberfest. Hopefully they have worked the kinks out.

I want one, but I think I'll wait until the kinks are out. I liked my Thumper....when it worked.

          Ope, you're right. I didn't notice it didn't have a purchase button.

This thing is beefy. All the modern stuff coming out of other companies is feather lite and metadyne went heavy metal. The angle adjustable grip is an interesting touch, and I love to see any manufacturer catering to the stock class crowd. That said, I’m definitely gonna rely on other people’s wallets to test this one. Coming out of the gate with claims like:
            • The unique air flow in the barrel creates the most accurate marker ever!
makes me wary of purchase. We don’t want magic and snake oil, a tube is a tube after all. We just want a functional marker.
I’m curious if the issues present at Stocktoberfest were caused by the use of co2 instead of compressed air. I imagine they used ca for all of their testing. I hope it all works out, especially with all the testing they claim to have done. But after the history of the thumper and the Phoenix’s poor showing at Stocktoberfest, I’m gonna need to see results before I take the plunge.

They are big in the hands, and I say that with some pretty lengthy booger hooks. It's also pretty heavy, and I say that as someone who loves old brass. Add in the fact that it's not easily taken apart, and it has like 4 different fasteners to get it apart. I'm also not sure about the adjustable grip frame, once you find a grip you like, you don't need to adjust it again. I don't see this one being a hot item, unless they've taken our feedback and have done a considerable amount of work since I held one at Stocktoberfest. Also it didn't hold up to the Jonnydread test, and he's a master of jank. It's going to be a no from me.

RuleOfSines very similar! I would say the Phoenix was a bit more rounded out, but just about as chunky.

That's too bad, just looking at the pictures it's not so obvious that it's still a chunky monkey.

Yeah it looks like it's small, until you get it in your hands. (Like I haven't said that before 😆)

I'm not a fan of the fact that it's powder coated rather than annodized is only mentioned on the page that provides updates on progress, rather than the sales page. I'm sure it's an oversight, but I'd be upset if I ordered one only to see that later.

That's such good news. I'd really love for this market to be a success, check one concern off the list.

That's a shame ... and on the edge of dishonest not to mention it ... -> Edit: I got confirmation from Scott that they are all anodized

There is mention of SC feed and open feed, but no option to select them -> Edit: I got confirmation from Scott it will be added once the site is fully up
There is mention of VASA, but no picture nor option to select it -> Edit: I got confirmation from Scott it will be added once the site is fully up
There is mention of accent color kit, but no pictures nor option to select it -> Edit: I got confirmation from Scott it will be added once the site is fully up

As much as i want to love it, it still seam like a prototype ... Im worried its gonna be a thumper 1.2 instead of 2.0 ...

The marker was sent to THE Major NE Stockclass Event (East Coast pump event) .

                  1. It arrived not working ( leaked I believe, and the company had to send out parts) even before the start of the event.

                  2. At its first demo on field and in front of the majority of those attending it failed to properly work after half a dozen shots as we all eagerly watched. The very proficient pump player who demoed it for us was forced to remove it from the field and use a different gun.

One would think that they would have sent out a demo that had been thoroughly gone through for it at least to have been used for 1 game. This was their big shot to show their best work.

Being present and watching those events unfold told me all I need to know, gimmick.

I’m hopeful for it. Even if it won’t make a good 12g marker. I’m excited for the VAS. It’s definitely a unique marker. I’m hopeful they can work the kinks out. I plan on removing the adjustable frame and running a 9ci / changer off the vert with a stock. It will be way more reliable that way.

The movable grip frame design while cool I can see being nothing but problems for them. It adds complexity, it’s not easy to take apart, co2 hates macro, especially when it’s flexed back and forth. I don’t suggest using the grip frame adjustment feature unless you’re prepared to pull it apart to move it. Maybe the production version will use bradded line or something. I don’t think macro is a good choice. They would be better off just dropping that feature all together. Unless they can figure out a better way to route the air/co2 supply line. It’s a standard AR style grip so I’m just going to remove mine and run the vert Asa. A Vert ASA and hard line would be a good call for reliability. It would solve 90% of the issues the prototype gave us at Slims. And make it a hell of a lot easier to assemble and disassemble.

I hope it’s not powder coated that’s a terrible idea. Raw internals are just asking for trouble. The prototype was anodized so Im hopefully that’s a typo.

I was one of the first few to get an order in when they tested the new website out. I kept my order and plan on getting one of the early ones. It’s relatively inexpensive so i figure what the hell.

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great Christmas. After months of testing and making adjustments our first round of markers are back from the anodizer. Our first run is a small batch of 100 markers. I will be making them available starting today at 12:30 mountain time. We will be shipping them out starting later this week as they are assembled and tested. I will be test shooting each marker at least 100 times before I box them for shipping. The way our site is currently set up I have had to break the markers up into categories based on the feed options available. I have to adjust stock on the fly so if the setup or color you are looking for is showing as out of stock send me a quick text to 208-398-0014 and I will see if i can get it updated. We WIll have two versions of this marker. The current design and we are working on vertical asa which we will have in our next run that we are making now. Please let me know if you have any questions.

                  Scott
