NW Spitfire II - A brief look inside

Got this NW Spitfire II off of BrickHaus recently, and just wanted to show of some of it's quirks.

Lighting in the basement isn't fantastic, so excuse the less than stellar photos.

Like an SL68, the barrel clamps into place.

The Wintec style trigger is very nice. I've never had anything with a Wintec trigger on it, so I was pleasantly surprised to see its actually a slide trigger.

And you can adjust both the sear and the travel:

The swinging trigger frame is weird, but necessary, as getting the hammer back in place requires you to manipulate the sear around a couple of screws that stick through the body.

The guts are your typical breech drop, and the pump handle attaches to a hole in the bottom of the bolt, much like a Phantom.

Because this is RF, the bolt is actually tapered on the right side to help with ball chopping on the way in.

Probably the biggest L in my opinion is the pump handle. That big ugly seam, the severe wobble, this and Brick's have stripped/severely weakened threads in the plastic.

The pump handle rocks around pretty good, and it limits your ability to use the built in site. Overall, it feels like a randomly cut corner on an extremely well made gun.

I also really like how the grip sits on an angle, making a lonestar feel like a 45. I put a 90 on and it's basically a Z-grip.

Overall, a very cool shooter. It aired up great, and I popped some reballs in the basement, but it's rollout city with such a small ball. I have some ideas for things I'd like to improve, and I look forward to modifying and sharing with you guys.

did these have an adjustable bolt or hammer? Always wanted to pick up a NW but just haven't seen one while I was willing to spend the cash.

Yes, and a 9 foot long Allen key to adjust it.

I can't say for sure, its not crazy thick or thin. The bigger issue is that without threads, this guy will pull the insert into the breech. The oring on the bolt makes a very good seal with the barrel. I might see about getting an ifit adapter and having the threads turned down since the inserts go in the front.
