    Cup Seal Options?

I called LAPCO today to ask if they had anymore 6-32 cup seals and along with saying no, they also said they will not be producing anymore cup seals moving forward. My next go-to, Have Blue , also shows that he is out of stock of 6-32 cup seals. I believe CCI cup seals are 6-32, but I’ve never tried one in something like a Line SI Bushmaster. Is anyone aware of another place that sells new cup seals?

I could make some, but it would be cheaper to buy a black magic cup seal.

You try Spyder cup seals? I’m pretty sure Lapco used the same thing didn’t they. If so all you need it’s a flat smooth surface and some fine wet sandpaper.

Also Vito had a bunch at Slims he was selling.

I just pulled out a couple of LAPCO power tubes one for Phantom and one for Nelson Clones (Bushmaster, Lapco, Wintec...etc) and the Nelson clones are 6-32 and the Phantom is close but loose 8-32. Since Phantoms the cup seal is brass where it threads it will not work for a Bushmaster without filling the hole re-drilling and re-tapping. What I would do is just find any of the while delrin cup seals for Illustrators, Mavericks, Piranhas, Trracers, Spyders, Autococker, ICD Bushmasters.....etc. and use one of them. They are all polymer and typically not threaded just drilled so you can just cut the threads with your power tube. It will work fine it is essentially what NW did with their Black Magic cup seals.

I feel like I used a Spyder on my Ghost without issues. I guess you could add a lil JB weld if you were concerned. You could always crack it off come replacement time,

I am positive they will work I have done it before when I was maintaining an eclectic rental fleet. That is why when Nikki was selling out her stock when she closed NW I bought a crap load of Black Magic Cup Seals. I think I have around 20 left to keep my collection happy. Honestly the only cup seals I have changed in years are for Phantoms. Like you said it is easy to resurface the Delrin ones and keep using the same ones for near ever. They are also less prone to deforming while in storage.

Those are the ones I was thinking of.

why not have someone make a 6-32 cupseal body out of aluminum/brass that uses an off the shelf nylon washer as a sealing surface.
