Traded ThatBobbyjoe a phantom for this awesome old Lapco Wrath
bacci paintball has some great interviews and articles on Lapco stuff. Good info on VintageRex too.
But as a quick rundown, the old Lapco Nelson guns stood out from the rest with superior internals, slide triggers, thin frames and a relatively higher standard for quality parts and accessories. They had poltergeist-themed names such as The Grey Ghost, The Spirit and The Spectre.
These were originally called The Wraith but due to an advertising typo became The Wrath.
While all basically the same, The Wrath was considered the "entry/rental level" lapco offering.
Mine came with two extra bodies, both bore drop and supposed to be cocker threaded, although only one really works.
It airs up and shoots with no leaks as is with about 22 shots to a cart. Ive got some powertubes and springs to fool with to get some better numbers there.
While I definitely enjoyed The Wrath for what it was when it came to me, I can never leave well enough alone. I fell in love with the frame and trigger ergonomics and decided this thing would get some modern touches.
The feedneck unscrewed from the body by hand and i drilled and tapped for a cci stock class feed.
the brass hardline and vasa is also cci, drilled and tapped through the top with a screw attaching through the Wrath frame.
I dig the angled foward vasa look on this one, reminds me of the forward angled vasa ive got on one of my snipers, also a lapco part.
This whole build is similar to The Grey Ghost 2008 vsc Lapco put out a while ago, though those are center feed and vertical vasa. and much more expensive than i "paid". nice that on mine, the front sight is still functional.
Future plans are to send the unibody out to be modified for a removable, insert bored barrel, maybe some porting. ill do some efficiency and fps tuning once its back from that.
Very stoked on this thing. Ive hadled many nelsons and the frame, grips and trigger are by far the comfiest ive ever held. Ive never seen another Wrath (and before this one didnt even know about them) but ive wanted a Lapco since the first time i ever shot a pump, a Grey Ghost. ill have it with me at any stock class games i go to for now on. So if you see me and want to check out The Wrath, like all my gear, feel free to take it out for a round or two and let me know what you think!
