    Bolt Action Trilogy

    Hello y'all,

So i made a thing ... a bit hacky, a bit rough around the edges ...
I though y'all might enjoy the ride

I put more picture here: Bolt Action Trilogy
(The site a work in progress, lots of dead end and missing info, don't judge 😅)

It all started with a very rough trilogy from Ballistic Ben 's triler

    And make a custom bolt:
The front and back of the bolt are fixed while the portion that hold the bolt handle can spin.
As all good project nedds some brass, i used an old casing for ht ebolt handle.

Good call making the bolt handle side swappable. I could see running this with a L stock and working the bolt right handed or using it as a pistol working the bolt lefty. Also, good idea using a rimmed cartridge for the handle. Very cool!

dont tempt me 😁 (shoot me PM if you're interested)
It does need a bit of tuning with the springs to get where it needs to be (I cant find my hammer springs)

I’m stealing your shell casing idea. I was wondering how you were going to get the handle to lock down closed without twisting the back block. Rotating bolt solution is simple and genius!

Only ideas I might add is a bolt tip oring and a benchmark frame. To get your hand closer to the barrel line.

Super cool build don’t know how I missed this the first time.

Looking forward to see your build 👍
the bolt tip was a re-work, i originally had an oring, but the lack of support made it catch the opening and not close properly, i ended removing the oring grove (ie make a new bolt front end) and tapering it a bit to help slide in better.

I use the same style bolt on my bolt action Phantom I’m going to JB weld a Shell casing on it that’s a great idea to give it a lil thicker handle and it looks super cool!

On a sort of off topic note... Can those wrap around grips be printed, in a darker shade or possibly be stain finished to a darker shade? Has this been discussed before? 🤔

Am I tripping or could you eliminate the back block with an ICS kit?

You would still need something to pull the cocking rod back to set the hammer. Unless you did like a half block mod. And the location looks to be right in that l rotating bolt area. So your “bolt pin” would need to be fixed and the collar slotted so the rotating part can move around it. So essentially I think a full custom Half block mod to eliminate the cocking rod.

That makes sense. For some reason I wanted to find a way to eliminate the back block but the ICS kit felt too easy. Thanks for the explanation Chucky!

i thought about half block and move the cocking handle back, but that would put a lot of stress on the center pin and i wasnt sure it would survive ... in this configuration the bolt is supported on both ends.
