    PGP 12g seal

I picked up a used pgp and the seal on the 12 CO2 chamber was done. Couldn’t find a replacement, so I used a 008 quad. Seems to air up and shoot fine, held air for the last few days. Anyone use a buna quad in the field?

Gonna second Xemon, he's still got rebuild sets available and a thread about it somewhere.

While I can't vouch for Xemon's specific seal, he helped me out with the dimensions and I was able to print my own in TPU. It works! Xemon has a rebuild kit tho. If you want to be sure you got it all, go his way.

Thanks for all the feedback guys 😊
I'm running low on 12g seals, the printer is currently taken by the next batch of phantom feed, but I'll make a run of TPU seals next.
Don't hesitate to check in with me if you need some 👍

10 days later the 008 70D quad is still holding air, no leaks. I think this is a good alternative solution for 12g seals.

How you get it to say in there it just wedges in?

I pushed it in with fat Allen key. Seems to be friction fit well enough.

Cool! I imagine the CO2 helps because it will push into the oring and expand it.

This sounds like a great option!
      Does the oring stay put?
I have never had it happen to me (because I usually change cartridges only once I see drop off), but I have often heard of various 12 gram seals freezing to the face of the 12 gram cartridge and pulling out.

Is the Sheridan seal “captured” or just press fit in?

I don’t know. I’ll do some testing and find out

I did a test run. finished off the 12g in the pgp, the second 12g did not want to seat all the way like the first since the rapid firing hardened the oring. It did seal with the help of a screwdriver driving the cap on. So if you carry one of those with you, this will work fine.. but seems to be an emergency type fix. I'll try a few other xring materials. end result is no leaks after ~50 shots, but difficult to change 12g.

new left for comparison - test right expanded

On the non-cartridge valve, the end of the valve body is crimped around the seal.
On the cartridge valve, it is "captured", the front screw onto the main piece of the valve "sandwiching" the seal.
