Trygve's Lever Action Build in progress..

So this guy sent me his ole lever action and all the pieces to complete a build except a body and a stock..

The body is scratch built mostly because he want the lower tube shorter.
This was my first time doing plug threads and I can't believe how easy it was...

This is what I have come up with so far..
I took this picture this morning and have since made a barrel and a feed tube for her..
i also did some.rimgs..more to come....
i will get those pictures up as soon as I can...

Man. These posts alone make the yearly membership well worth the cost.

Waiting with bated breath for the whole build Wally.

Edited as Axel learned me today.

*bated. As in "abated," that is, holding one's breath in anticipation. Unless you are eating worms or powerbait or something

^^I always appreciate posts like this. I learn something.

I used to say that my interest was "peaked", but now I know it's "piqued", because somebody politely corrected me.

Today I had time to make a rear sight and more rings for the rear of the marker...
      Hope you like this sight...
I was thinging a ball sight for the front verses a blade sight...what say you...

Sooo slick. I like it a lot.

I'm not such a big fan of the marble sized ball sights, they're just a little to big for my taste. But one half the size or so would be very cool.

I do like blade sights quite a bit. The one you made for my pistol is really nice. Maybe something like that but extra long...like 2 inches.

Or a pyramid - i like that shape.

I'm not much help, I trust your judgement.

also I'm sorta enjoying how shiny this thing is...I may be converted after all.

installed a brass detent to stop double feeds and wanted to add another for a barrel dentent but I would have had to drill into the titanium. Not sure if I even can drill it out...
So I opted not to add that..
Did make a walz logo and added that to the lot..
Did all the hot work on the body section as the rings, rear sight were just setting there for approval...glad that part is done,. it was tedious I tell you..
I did make a front sight for you to check out.
It is a long skinny 3/16 wide at the bottom and tapered to the top... it is 3"s long... I like it but if you want it shorter lmk...
          its just settings there now..

This is the time to decide what finish you would like on the exposed titanium.. As it is a la natural, polished out or a flame anodized job..

          More coming...

Yes sir that all looks amazing. Front sight looks great kinda sci-fi-ish. Walz logo looks good too, really like this style.

I think just leave the titanium as is, it offsets the shine a little bit haha.

            Its really really something. Man...

Man, I thought I was gonna break the MCB servers when my build was in progress. Eventually I just downloaded the pics Wally posted qnd put em on my phone home screen background. Lol.

The looks awesome love how the sights came out. That is one cool lever. Can’t wait to se the final product. That stock is really neat. Dose it have a ripple effect on the back like dragon scales? I’m curious if that is the piece that was ruff cut in your other stock thread? It’s got a unique back to it.

Yes it is scaly! It's the same stock documented in the "even more wood" thread...I think that's the one you're referring to. I believe he's done another stock like it but photos may have been lost on the old MCB. I'd like to find them.

              Ok, some bad new here...

long story short, body sitting in big ole vice not bolted to a stool that I always use... very sturdy..

tripped into it it while cleaning up and vice and marker fell three feet to concrete floor...

              Vice wins and marker loses...

Big ovulated area in valve and hammer area... no workie anymore...

Started over with a kp2 and have most of the pieces a parts cut and ready to solder up....

yippie-ki-yea.... its all golden from hear on out...

                Sorry for the lost effort!
