    Noob questions

I apologize if a lot of this has been asked a million times before, but my google-fu is weak and I can't find the old threads.

I aquired this PGP in exchange for a leaky Ion. It is all stock apart from a velocity adjuster, I'm curious about what it will take to make it useable.

Firstly, what kind of options am I looking at for adding a more functional 12g changer? I know Palmer's fastchangers are the gold standard, but I get the impression that they are becoming unobtainium.

Secondly, how useable is the integrated barrel? I know that I can add a detent mod to prevent rollouts, but will I have problems with velocity or terrible efficiency due to huge bore-size?

It is 100% useable as it is. Get out and shoot it. If you notice issues go from there. No need to solve a problem you don't have.

For rollouts, you can install your own wedgits or use dabs of nail polish.

Fast changers are nice but not necessary. You can sometimes add spacers if the changer knob is two piece.

So you don't mind chilling behind a bunker for thirty seconds whenever you need to change a cartridge? Maybe you just have much faster fingers than me.

What kind of 12gr changer knob do you have on that model? Is it one or two pieces. I'd say you'd only need 2-3 threads engaged to hold the pressure so if you can add some kind of spacer in there, it will remove a majority of the work.

Thanks, I am aware of wedgits although I haven't installed them yet on mine. About how many shots per 12g should I expect with the stock barrel and modern.680 paintballs?

Freak mod it. It is the way.

I know that a lot of people do that mod, but I'm not looking to put a ton of time and money into this gun. I also want to maintain the original look and feel. I suspect if I need to go that far I might be better off selling this gun to someone who wants to build a PGP of Theseus and buy a PGP 2K instead.

Its usable, as you suspect paint is a factor. My kp3 has the stock barrel. It shoots 300 fps somedays, and 250 others depending on the paint the field has. If i can get .684 or bigger paint its fine.

I dont have any wigits in that one.

I personally run my most used brass off of ca, so I don't know efficiency on 12ies much, but my p68sc would get about 27 shots to a 12ie.

That being said it has a longer barrel.

Ive used a washer like suggested before and that does help.

Fast changers... we need to find a manufacturer. There's a few people hard looking for them, with no source.

You could cut a drop out slot in the bottom. It would hide easily, and it would speed up your 12ie changes.

The short barrel is hard on efficiency. Small paint does hurt also. I think around 20 is good.

Since they are rock-back, you keep the small paint on the bolt face with the muzzle up, but I hate relying on that. You can't bunker anyone or snipe a toe like that. I do have one fishing line mod that has worked well, but I eventually went to detents/wedgits also.
