    Sheridan PGP lower assembly issues

    Hey there PGP fans,

I’m having an issue resembling my PGP. When I resemble the lowers the jam/locking nut does not grab and I am not able to lock everything in. The threads are good in both the body and locking nut but I can’t get it screw in at all. Using some pressure to catch threads but still can’t screw it in. Am I doing something wrong? Here’s a photo of my assembly. I am using regular o-rings, is this ok or do I need the flat ones?

I think your valve tool lacks the shoulder used to get pressure on your nut. Then when you put pressure on it it's not being compressed like the rest of the valve.

That o ring between the valve parts seems thick also.

But try making sure it's pointed straight down when you try to put the valve back in to let gravity seat the nut.

Yeah, that’s what I thought to be the issue. The tool does have some play in it. I’ve used the tool with other PGP’s with no problem. The one on top is the one the tool had no issues with install. I cleaned it up some more before I resembled it. Going to make another one more sturdy to see if that resolves the problem. Going to try different size O-ring for the valve. Thank you for the help.

    012 and 014 o rings.

Your problem is you need downward pressure on the nut, sometimes I jam a 3/16 rod down there to push on the nut just a bit. I usually have it in a vice to do this.
