Clear part kit for PGP - interest thread

    Hello y'all,

I made a few PGP clear pump handles and been testing them and so far they've been holding up pretty well.

So, it's time to gauge interest in a clear pump handle (and plug kit?).
Those are resin 3D printed and post processes to be a bit more "clear" than straight from the printer. They have a light frosted glass look to them.

Is there any interest in those?

    Thanks,

Ps: I'm also working on aluminum, brass and copper grip panels 😁

Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

Not sure, I have the FDM at $20, but those will have to be more ... Material is more expensive (resin that stay "clear"/doesn't yellow is expensive), I got a lot more post processing and higher failure rate (my cat managed to drop to hairs in the resin bath and I had to trash a few prints πŸ™„). Pricing work is something I'm not good at (and don't particularly enjoy doing either ...) so before putting the work to do that I'm trying to figure out the interest and see if it's worth it to keep going/take it to the next step πŸ˜…

Also, if there is enough interest I would like to incorporate a threaded insert to help longevity at the pump arm threads, but i will need to make some custom tooling and a bit more R&D to make it fit properly ...

When I last inquired about how well resin takes a threaded insert, the response I received was "not well" and that it tends to shatter.

I confirm, resin and threaded inserts are not a good match. That's why I redesign it and I have a through bolt holding a threaded block so the resin doesn't hold an insert nor threads 😁

How big can you print? I might have a side quest...

I wonder how that material will take dye, then we could potentially have any color

It can definitely be dyed after the fact with alcohol dyes, or add the dye (or sparkles) straight into the resin.
Adding it to the resin creates more waste as you dye a whole batch of resin, but the color wont "rub off" ...

Do it! I was hesitant at first, but after my first game with my stock pgp I immediately wanted to customize it and play with it more.

Iv had a few, love the way the shoot they just seem so deadly accurate at times, one of the last times I played I had a p68sc and was dirty Harry that thing and hitting masks in the corners of windows all day, they learned not to poke their head out for to long πŸ˜‚

Shoot. I'd take a cat hair one... haha. Seriously, I would.

If you can whip up a feed plug with a parabolic tip on it, a front feed plug, and this pump handle, it would be a dope upgrade kit for the pgpness.

How about some clear grips to finish it all off? All of that would look so classy on a nickel plated PGP
