PMI d/f neck removal

Looking for advice on how to remove the feed neck on a pmi. If heat is used will it loosen the barrel from the bottom tube?

When I've done it i just try to torch mostly the feed neck, it will heat up quickly and the feed neck should fall right off. I use a Map Gas torch.

I soldered the full length feed tube on my current project, and didnt have issues with the top/bottom tube joint.

You can wrap a wet rag around the body to act as a heat sink, it will help keep things soldered that you want to stay soldered. 🙂

Thanks, will use that advice. I also have some spray on weld cool that works well to keep heat out.
