Fine threads is definitely key. The ones I made I just took the spring to the hardware store and matched up a grub screw that was similar diameter of the spring. A few of them I stepped in a drill so they kind of fit into the spring a lil bit it’s not needed.
PGP Junkies has some really nice ones for $35 that work great if you want something drop in.
Oh I get it. My local hardware store hit me for $19.99 the other day for a single drill and tap. Team Red but still. I even had the right one I needed for my ICD lever mods but didn't want to make a 2nd trip in if I didn't. must have spent $50 on little stupid stainless replacement screws and bits. But they always have everything I need in stock so I pay for the convince.
I have a few PGP rear caps I wanted to Drill and tap for RVA plugs, Just wondered what tap/threading others used when doing the mod.
Thanks.
PGP Junkies here! I found that M10-1.0 Fine Thread gives you a good diameter and adjusting ability for the stock spring. Make sure to get a grub screw long enough to allow some play though. The stock PGP cap doesn't have much room for threading. I short grub screw might just run past your threaded section and sit loose behind your spring.
