    PGP Component Valve Nut Seized

Hey guys, I picked up a crusty first gen PGP last year and recently decided to dig into it and get it running.

The valve nut is stuck solid. I have a brand new valve tool from PGP Junkies. On my first attempt to move the nut, the tool felt like it slipped. I backed off and inspected, determined the nut must be stuck. So I put the body in the vise vertically, put some PB Blaster in there and let it sit for a while. Second attempt, the nut didn't move, so I backed off again not wanting to strip anything. More Pb Blaster, more time to soak, then I gave it a little love from the heat gun. Third attempt, no luck, and the tool started feeling looser in the socket. Rinse repeat the previous, and on the final attempt I decide to lean on it a little more. The nut didn't move, but the tip of the tool twisted and cracked.

What's my next step? Any secret knowledge out there to help a brother out? I tried making diy valve tools with what I have on hand and it didn't go well (2 nut drivers in the trash). I don't want to give up on it, and also don't want to buy another $25 tool.

Thanks in advance for any constructive advice!

that's disappointing for new tools, did you try reaching out to them?
I always had good results with stainless or hardened tools (mild steal, not so much)

next you can try some heat, but it will make a mess with the old orings in there, and if you get it too hot, you can scrap the body entirely ...

I sent an email to him earlier today, pending a reply. I did apply some heat with a heat gun, but didn't want it to get too hot for the reason you stated. I'm kinda at a loss if the nut moves the tool and not the other way around.
