    Vibe solenoid leak

So are these solenoids just impossible to repair/rebuild or what? i see there's a leak right there but far as i got with taking it apart, i can't say i see any obvious cause for the leak yet. anyone disassemble this any further? i have a macc33 noid i'm considering putting in there, but i figured i'd double check here to see if this one is able to save.

Not sure if this is helpful or not:

lol somewhat. He gets so close to where i'm at, but then stops essentially where i have. I'm tempted to keep trying to dismantle the coil to see if i can find anything wrong or broken on the inside. i think i'm gonna just go for it. i'll report back.

Hold up... I've never seen one of these things, but if you're at the windings I wonder if the leak is something you've already gained access to...

If it's just like the Ion solenoid in terms of flow/seal path, then I suspect the seal is on that removable disc. Does it look damaged?

        Per ZDSPB.com:

Continuous leak from the hole at the bottom of the solenoid.
        · Clean the solenoid armature as well as the solenoid housing (where the armature goes).
        · The solenoid armature seal may be damaged; replace the armature and try again.
        · Solenoid housing (where the armature goes) is most likely scratched; the solenoid will need to be replaced.

Are you absolutely sure that the leak is from the centre hole? About 99% of leaks from the solenoid housing on any SP/GoG marker is due to stress from over thightening the munting screws. This in turn causing a minutely fine crack on the inside of the solenoid housing, next to one of the screws. I have lost count on how many busted solenoid housings I have replaced so far.

If, in fact there is a leak from the solenoid, venting out from the center hole, you could probably find a new solenoid real easy. There are gazillions of boards with solenoids out there, with the hair line crack I mentioned. Hell, I've gotten two markers "pre-cracked" brand new straight from the factory where they gladely fasten those screws as if their life depended on it.

If you aren't dead sure the leak is from the centre hole, do yourself a favor and check again, before going any further. Also, the crack can bee seen if you really know what to look for, undear a decent lamp, and if you wiggle the housing a little, tryin to pry it apart.

Wasn't there someone on here who made aluminum solenoid housings for these? There was Walzmas giveaway with a vibe that had one.
