    shoebox shocker help (not firing)

I'm at the end of my rope with this marker. It will cycle but not shoot.

When I got it, it was shooting between 190-210fps over the chrono, changing the maxflo output made no difference in velocity. Then it simply stopped firing with no changes to the marker. One shot was 200fps and the next trigger pull didn't produce a shot.

I've torn the whole thing apart, greased everything. There are no leaks. All of the dip switches are set to the slowest bolt and longest firing. I've torn apart the 3000 solenoid and cleaned it. If I gas the marker up and hold the white button it produces a shot.

At this point I'm wondering if there is a short in the 3000 wiring, maybe it was producing low voltage which resulted in the unchanging velocity and then it might have stopped conducting electricity to the solenoid.

Try a fresh battery. I won't say that's "the" problem, but back in the day, you'd have been surprised how many shoebox problems were completely fixed by a new battery.

Well you're doing a bit better than I did with it. I had rebuilt the internals (orings and bumpers), and when the Maxflow was cooperating (pretty sure it didnt like my tanks) I was getting low 200s like you and just attributed it to some Maxflow magic I didnt understand.

I'm running a different maxflo, and a brand new duracell premium 9v.

The wiring is pretty beat and there is a thin spot in the 9v connector splice. I've got a buddy that solders so I may have him run new wiring to the 3000 solenoid and redo the 9v wiring. My guess is it's low voltage to the firing noid.

If it's cycling fine when you press the white manuel buttons on the noid, I would guess your dwell is too low or there is an electrical issue like you said.

I data logged my shocker to check the settings. Have had great success with 10ms and 44ms dwells.

What board were you using and how did you track the data?

This is a early dome switch board with the dip switches.

This is a simple question but are you running at least 800 psi into it ? These require that.

I never realized maxflows needed that, always just threw my tank on and was good to go....but all my tanks are also 950 PSI output so this actually makes sense.
