Anyone familiar with Nerves know they have two pins located in the rear of the body that retain the bolt. In the case that someone wishes to annodize a nerve these need removed, this will require managing to press them out by pressing on the face interior of the body.
Speaking with the anno guy, he said this was relatively simple once figuring out how to press them. He did not expand on the how, so YMMV on that one. These pins are retained with a chemical bond (red loctite by the looks) in a slip fit hole.
About the pins themselves, they are a stepped body pin. The small o.d. Is 0.125” and is approximately 0.175” long. It then steps up to a o.d. of 0.140” which is approximately 0.025” long for an overall length of 0.2” long. Material is slightly magnetic possibly 304 stainless or similar grade.
The large diameter is on the exterior of the body and sets the depth internal to the body, so that is nice.
I put a dab of blue loctite on the small diameter and replaced the pins in their home on the body.
