Why do I like my Mech Ion more than my eNMEy?!!!?!

So I just bought an eNMEy v2 with a couple of ups about a month ago. I've used it and it's pretty great. I finally got around to building some project Mech Ions and have been playing with these 2 exclusively when I go out to play. Now that I've had time to get really snuggly with both, I feel like I have a little buyers remorse with the eNMEy. I can't put my finger on it. Like I said, the eNMEy is pretty great. I like it as much as I like the Emek from other people. I just can't figure this one out. Anyone else feel like this and their Mech Ion?

Added the pic of "The Fam" for effect - The ones I'm shooting are the blue one (top) and the Tacticool eNMEy (bottom). The silver mech went to our field tech and the red/black one is my regular Ion.

    My $0.02.
Sometimes you just find a marker that fits you. I love Mags, but I really love the feel of my Tippmann Model 98. I love the way the trigger breaks and the recoil of the internals. It reminds me of firing my M-16A2 in the Army.

      Because they're better.

No, seriously, bang for buck - mech Ion all the way. You can build one for $100, they have a ton of aftermarket upgrades available, and they're configurable in almost any way you can imagine, including double barrel.

I understand why people are gaga for Emeks, logically, but I would still take a mech Ion any day.

I don’t know what a eNMEy v2 is but with a name that dumb it has to take batteries which means it’s fake crap and that’s probably why you prefer something else. I’d rather use a Splatmaster than any paintball gun that needs electricity. The very idea is offensive in its overdone uselessness. Sell it to some noob, tell him it will make him win more. Tell him it’s “powerful”.

I haven't got to use my mech Ion yet, but I'm already addicted to it. I can't wait to go out and use it

They're a mech spool gun - essentially a manufacturer-produced mech Ion.. No batteries required.

            Good rant, though.

              Lol, thanks dude!

Yeah, it's from the evolution of Smart Parts... GoG. They seem to like to use unnecessary upper and lower case letters in their names. They have this cleverness that lets them have the name of their gun twice. I could have been fine with the NME, tbh.

But yeah, the eNMEy is is their production version of what everyone already did with the Ion. Only downside with my Ion is that I don't have a safety and the trigger pull is TINY and fairly light. I have to be incredibly conscious about that in staging if it's aired up. Thinking of some sort of control valve to kill the air after it leaves the reg/before it gets to the t barb. Or just do it with a universal part using that twisty on/off asa thing that lots of people are using now. I'll need to use a mini drop to reclaim that extension though.

              So many options!

Right???!?! Cycling that sumbitch is so satisfying! I really hope you get to use it soon. Then maybe you can help me figure this out in my head. LOL

There definitely is something there when it comes to bang for the buck. I've built all kinds of things for the hell of it. But there's something about this marker. I'm so enamoured with it!

Welcome to the cult of the mech Ion... kool-aid's on the left, anti-Emek rally sign-up sheet on the right. 🙂

I tried a mech ion before and it was neat, but I like the weight and balance of the enmeys quite a bit. Either way I prefer them over Emeks for sure. Have any of you advanced tinkerers tried pumping an enmey? Is it similar to pumping an ion?

Pumps and closed bolt ions intrigue me as a tinkerer. I just don't have any info on where to start.

I thought the two fat guys had a closed bolt mech ion design?
