Just a reminder when ordering a new Sterling STP

If you plan on ever running 12g on your Stock Class STP Sterling make sure you get the “Heavy” Valve and “Heavy” main spring. They do not come with both HPA and Co2 springs when ordering new. You need to order them separately shipping is pricy from Australia to the US so make sure you get them when you can.

Also make sure when you get them you break them down and clean them good they coat the internals with a vaseline like grease I’m assuming to protect the parts during shipping from Europe to Australia. So you need to wipe that off and lightly oil them before you use it.

I got mine shooting really well on 12g now. Next time I pull it apart I will measure the springs see if we can find them in the US.

If you have heavy springs and calipers, can you post up wire diameter and number of coils? Maybe we can find equivalent springs here.

Edit: I now see you already plan to. Excellent.

          Hi,
Has anyone else bought CO2 springs for their Sterling?
I'm planning on going full stock class on mine - making a new valve body for VSC setup and everything else involved. But... I'd want to know if I can get the springs locally, or need to send over to Australia for them first.

Anyone able to measure some springs for me? (Or can I buy a set off anyone?)
          Thanks!

Awesome, thanks! Do you have calipers for wire diameter? They looks quite similar to the stock HPA springs, as far as number of coils and all that.

Those are the spare springs that came with my STP in the parts kit. Not sure if they are hpa or co2. Whatever came inside my STP works for co2 so I never changed them.

It will take a week for me to measure wire thickness but I'll get it for you if nobody get it before then.

Ah, gotcha. Maybe the soft springs are fine, then?
I'll tinker as temps change down here. Might be 60 in the am and 95 in the pm this time of year.
