Prolite valve rebuild I give up

I'm throwing in the towel on rebuilding these. I have 3 total. 1 of them may be toast due to problems getting stupid ring back in it. Looking for someone to undertake the challenge for $ to keep them from being wall hangers.

Id have to look for it, but I swore I saw mention of using a snap ring in place of the split ring for the valve retention. The style with the 2 holes that use those special pliers for.

May help if you can find those.

Those are internal retention snap rings. I bought a few at ace but none worked even after thinning and trimming. It's like I need 5 baby hands working at the same time.

Are the similar to the valve in the original style 98s? Sounds like it and yup they are pain to get out! I don’t remember specifically how I eventually got it removed but it involved picks, pliers and my own tears to remove it. Thankfully much easier to put back in.

The retainer ring us the same but more of a pain because there's valve stems on both ends.
