Bunna can work with Co2 it just permeates the soft rubber and expands it. That’s why harder material orings are recommended. But I have used black bunna in a pinch with various results 90% of the time it works just fine. If that’s all you got go for it keep on mind it my not last as long.
The O ring you’re talking about barely does anything but hold the valve body in place while you screw in the airline and prevent some unneeded blowback. You should be fine. Did your factory one turn to goo or get brittle and fall apart? Buna won’t do that at least

I think it'll be fine... it's a static seal so even if it does swell from absorbing CO2 (I've seen urethane tank orings do this too) it'll just seal "better".
You really only run into issues unless you take stuff apart right away. Like on a bucket changer will work perfectly with a black bunna but if to take the bucket off the oring will be all loosey goosey unless you let it sit for a bit. But in a pinch it will get you on the field. Also if you take the expanded oring put it in your mouth it pops like pop rocks.
Thanks guys I knew it would swell buna but I didn't know if it would be an issue with them eventually cracking from the cold since they're contact with CO2 is only incidental. Yeah I know that seal doesn't necessarily need to be 100% airtight to keep it functional, but I can certainly foresee some issues if it's severely degraded or missing entirely.
