Blue 68 special?

Looking for some help and or advice. Back when I was a wee lad, I watched an HBO (I think?) Comedy special featuring Paula Poundstone. In this special, she plays some paintball with the OG Navarone crew. In this clip, she uses a blue anodized 68 special, and I instantly fell in love with it. Been wanting one ever since. But I've never seen any 68 specials that were anodized.

So, does anyone happen to have a blue anodized 68 special? I would love to add it to my collection.

If not, does anyone know if i could just re-ano a black one to be blue?

It's cast aluminum so probably not anodizing. Probably either paint or powder coat.

Normally I would agree with you...but I've been seeing evidence lately of anodized Tippmann markers.

I have seen anno'd SL68s. the cast can be done, but the finish is unique.

Back when Island paintball was still running we had a red 68 special that was on our museum wall. I don't remember if the owners kept it or it was stolen but it was most definitely annoed red

Cast aluminum can be anodized, I've done it many times. Manufacturing method does not determine if or if not it can be anodized. The type of alloy used does. Alloys high in silicon like a356 (commonly used in castings) cannot be anodized. It's hard to really know what alloy was used in a casting. You can drill a small hole and see how the chips form.
