    Flatline or Apex

I've partially got my dad back into playing but seeing as he's old enough to be classified a senior citizen sometimes he just wants to sit back and lob paint. He had a M98 back in the day and I have all the parts I want to build him another but was curious if anyone has used both. Which is the better barrel? Flatline, Apex, or Apex Freak tip???

The Apex is more practical because you can turn it off and adjust it. The bulbous tip does make aiming without a sight more difficult though. The old style flatlines are aesthetically pleasing but can make for a really crappy day given the way paint is nowadays.

Apex. It's best feature is the off position.

I tried a flatline briefly a couple years ago and it was really fun until I broke paint. You need a pull through squeegee with you, and even then it is challenging to clean that curved barrel well on the field.

I suggest you try mag fed specific paint, they have harder shell to resist breaking from spring pressure in a magazine, and they might hold up better in the flatline.
