Tippmann 98 Barrel Adapters?

I'm looking at purchasing a Lapco or similar 98 (gun side) to cocker (barrel side) adapter and I'm wondering if the adapter adds any actual barrel length.

I know the adapter will have a 'ramp' at the breach end since Tippmann bolts enter the barrel. But is there a space between where the ramp ends and where the bore of the cocker barrel begins where it's straight walled (presumably large bore) barrel?

I have a GOG cocker/98 adapter and it adds about 3/4" to the overall length. The end of the cocker barrel sits flush on the inside of the adapter with no gap.
