    Pro/carbine sputtering

Oh man, I have never had this problem, but this pro/carbine I bought for nostalgia won’t recock and started sputtering. I’ve changed all the orings including inside the CVX valve, which I *think* I put back together correctly? The hammer is shiny where it catches, so maybe it is slipping off the sear?, Or could the drive spring be too weak?

I am using HPA ninja reg with 700psi output from a full tank.

Have you tried higher pressure like 800 ish? Or was it working at 700 and now it’s not.

I run about 800 to mine.

You need at least 800psi or a large gas through to give you more volume at the valve would be my guess.

Strangely, with this ninja reg, it only puts out 700psi with both red shims.

It is working now, not sure what I did other than rebuild the entire marker. Maybe I had the valve incorrect from a previous rebuild?

I've had the same issues with a Ninja reg. I bought a rebuild kit and added a third red shim to boost the output. I had recocking/velocity issues on my blowbacks (Pro/Carbine and Thundercat) before adding the shim.

Is it a ninja ball valve reg? They can choke if you tighten them all the way. You can drop a large oring in the ASA or just put it on give it a 1/4 turn out.

No, I don't have the ball valve reg.

I think that the issue is the striker spring being a tad weak. I have a set of new ones on the way. pro/carbine parts and upgrades have really dried up after 30 years … 🥺

Yeah I had to scavenge parts for mine. It’s pretty tricked out now thanks to some generous friends.
