    68 Carbine Barrel Shroud/Grip Dimensions

I was wondering if someone might have a stock 68 Carbine barrel shroud, and be willing to provide some dimensions from it? I was looking to draw up and 3D print something similar but different. I would like to know the barrel hole dimension, and the width of the widest part of the shroud, and the overall length of the shroud.

Once I complete the drawing, I would be willing to share the files for others to print as well. This might take a bit since a friend does all my 3D printing, and I would like to make sure the shroud is of decent function before sharing the files.

I couldn't give you exact dimensions but Tippmann Carbine barrels are 7/8" OD nominally. That's the best I can do for you.

This thread is coming back from the dead, just in time for Halloween. After getting my own printer and finally choosing to comeback to this idea. I just worked off of some images for reference and did my best, and came out with something decent. Going to use threaded inserts and nylon set screws to hold it in place, hopefully without messing the barrel finish up.

Got some tweaks to make to the drawing before I consider it finished though, and obviously print it in black.

V2 this time, at least this time it is the right color.

Getting closer to fully satisfied. Opted to ditch the threaded insert idea for threading right into the plastic, just more straight forward to do. Need to figure out my print supports for the ribbed section, they were so nightmarish to remove that the grip looks battle worn already. Also fix dimensions on the front sight to get it more appropriately inline with the rear sight.

Looks good but, the ribs are a pain to clean. Have you thought of making it more solid, like the OG SL68 pump handle with finger grooves? Just a thought...

I might do a variant like that. I wanted to replicate the original, but also thought of doing another variant or two for fun once I dialed in the first version. I'm likely going to remove the see-thru aspect of the ribs on this version to hopefully negate the need for print supports, and make cleaning a bit easier.

So this will hopefully be my last revision for this version of the handle. Removing the the see-thru cuts on the ribs does appear to have removed the need for supports on them(also it is more true to the original design), just supports for the setscrew holes remain now. I just need to dry more black PETG filament to print it.

I finally have gotten around to doing some model changes and printing a version I'm comfortable with publishing.
        https://makerworld.com/en/models/215...fileId-2339653

The tab I added to the end is secured by the front body bolt, it keeps it loosely attached to the marker which is enough for me for the most part. I have yet to test the holes I made for the 1/4-20 set screws to lock onto the barrel to better secure the grip. If you opt to use the set screw holes you may risk damaging your barrel, so do this at your own risk.

Nice work. Will you be printing any type of Feedneck Adapter for these. Those factory feednecks are very hard to find. I have a 3D printed design on hand that works well but want a couple more in case these get damaged

I hadn't really thought of doing more for the 68 Carbine at this moment. This was just kind of something I wanted to do to help me learn CAD, and led me to buying a 3D printer for myself. I aim to design and print more paintball related items, but most of them are going to stem from the need/desire to have them for my own projects.

What about modeling the feedneck portion of a Pro-Carbine shroud and making it such that the barrel clamp screw goes through a hole in the assembly and clamps the whole assembly firmly to the body. Would have the strength of the Pro-Carbine feedneck with a much smaller size and no rattling. Could be printed out of PETG. Beyond my modelling skills , but not my imaginating skills!
