Who knows anything about the Tippmann Stryker series?

I just stumbled on these and after a few breakdown vids, I realized it's an Ion with a Tippmann body. Can someone verify if the bolts are interchangable?

We have been talking about them on and off. They seem to have been released but it's really confusing because it's like they were released a few years ago and then possibly pulled and then just started showing up again a few months ago.

If I remember right yes same bolt. Pretty sure I pulled up a manual and again, if my memory is correct they still use the 2x16mm sail o ring even

Someone around here said the trigger was absolute garbage feeling

Yeah, only interested in the bolt, especially since it's dual tail.

It is an Ion bolt system with dual-tail orings. I just ordered a bolt from ANSgear to see if it will work in my Ions.

According to Jeff at Xfactor Pro Shop, KORE (formerly GI, formerly Kee) owns a lot of the Smart Parts IP that was sold off in the 2008 bankruptcy.

Now THIS is the kind of scienceing I was looking for! I'm looking for a way to streamline my mech ion process and I ran across these through a FB post. How long till it shows up? Totally excited to see if it fits!

If I were gonna get myself one of these tippmann ions, I'd opt for the raider. I honestly have almost purchased one many times. Haha. Why not add a mech driven hopper to the mix?

Haha I heard the feed system is total booty cheeks when you start running low. Never seen one in the wild to mess with, but one of the locals just snagged the Empire version. That thing is a beast!

You are probably right. But you could always mod it to take halo guts or something. If anyone can print that up, you could.

Look for the SAS bus at GBG. One of the SAS guys has a couple raiders. He said the early models did have issues, which is why they hit market then disappeared. But the newer ones are fine. I bet he would let ya chute his.

I have that bolt in one of my seven Ions right now, and it works perfectly.

I know it's becoming an older topic, but I just picked up two of these (Stryker MP2 Elite) and I wanted to throw in my two cents. Maybe help some other owners out.

The whole setup is like an Ion XE, not so much the standard Ion. Although many packings/o-rings will be compatible. I used an old Captain Oring kit to service one of mine and it's worked out well.

The ball detents are the same as the Ion, but they're garbage and not available anywhere anymore. The best replacement is the Tech T Fly-On Ball Detents. Those will last a lifetime.

The barrel is cocker thread, surprisingly not A5 style. The stock barrel with Apex 2 tip works well though. Dial in the apex and it'll do well in the woods.

The regulator works well enough, however the two o-rings internally should be replaced. One of mine had the o-ring just turn to goo, but it's easily replaceable. Regarding the regulator, maxed out I got 315 fps with a 45000 tank. It's very touchy to tune, not a lot of movement in the reg nut. The regulator also has standard threads on the bottom, so you can install your own air lines and ASA if you like. It's not standard up top though, so it's unusable on other markers.

My only issue was the internal solenoid on one of the markers was not working correctly. I could hear it trying to actuate but nothing. I tried cleaning it, but my best guess is either just bad coil or the broken reg o-ring sent junk into it. ANS Gear DOES have these in stock as replacement, but I would buy them quickly. I feel like parts for this might dry up soon.

No issue with the eyes. The side mounted Rip Clip 2 loader works well enough and also has eyes. The max ROF is just 10 bps, so it's not likely going to outshoot it.

This takes BT feednecks, so you can get one and have a clamp installed. I did that so I could run my rotor.

The trigger is a simple switch tripper with a spring pulling it back to neutral. Ion triggers won't fit, so you're limited to whatever someone can 3D print or machine.

The plastic outside is easy to disassemble and can be changed. The collapsible stock can be removed and plugged with a tippmann 98 plug.

The board is mildly programmable, but still caps at 10bps. One of mine was on bust, but I reset the board because I can easily hit the max ROF without it.

In any case, I actually like these markers. They were scoffed at by me when they initially came out, but they're actually quite simple, light and fun to use. Lots of o-rings, but you can just use the buna type which will last longer. It can handle them. Just remember, the hardest things to find will be the detents and internals. Both of the ones I picked up needed detents and a reg rebuild. Oh, and it does have a mechanical safety, though it's electronic. I find that helpful.

Figured I post this here since this thread has a little traction. I installed a GoG QEV today and swapped the stock reg out for Bob Long Defiant 2 reg (basically a female threaded torpedo). The BLD2 threaded right on to the stock vasa (regulator top) easily and secured. I was worried I was going to have to thread the stock vasa but it worked perfect. It doesn’t thread all the way up to the O ring on the VASA so I made a O ring hat, should work fine, if it leaks I’ll just teflon tape it.

Now the BLD2 reg apparently has a minimum OP of 200psi so I’m in the process of converting it to a LP HPR because I think I may be around 140-160psi OP. Not hard at all. One disappointment was finding out there was no gauge port on the reg. I already bought a gauge too. That, and I’m going to have to be careful to not over pressure the system. Good thing is I’m still using the stock vasa with the pressure relief.

i just need to run some macro and get some air and I’ll see what’s what.
