    68 Carbine Sear Spring

Well I'm stumped. I think that is not the correct spring for the Sear. It won't stay in the proper place, and gets hung up beneath the Trigger. It's like the spring is in the wrong place, but that isn't the issue. Any ideas?

If you put the trigger frame back together and put it on the body are you able to cock it and dry fire?

When the frame is removed from the body the sear does have a tendency to nose dive like that but it doesn’t stay that way when you put it all back together. If you are having trouble with it staying in place to put the trigger frame back on the body try squeezing the trigger with one hand then push down on the tail of the sear and let go of the trigger. Keep pushing down on the sear with your finger though. Slide the frame some on the body then pull your finger out and off the sear. Slide the frame in position and then bolt it all back up and it should work fine.

Make sure you didn’t accidentally mix up the sear pin, too. It should be a blackish color or have black marks on it. If you accidentally put a thinner pin in the sear pin cavity it’ll make the sear move further down then it’s supposed to.

Thank you! Yep, I tried putting it back on the receiver and it still gets hung up. Sort of like the back of the Trigger is missing a bump to hold the Sear up / in place. I believe the dowel pins are all jacked up as well. They are all the same satin finish, different lengths. It's ok, it was in my parts bin and I was trying to clean it up. You really have to take photos of these things immediately as you open them up - doing that from now on. Thanks again man

Don’t put the trigger frame back on the receiver until the receiver is full assembled. That looks to me like your only issue. If that doesn’t work then your parts are worn.

Gotcha, thank you. I think once it's installed it should cinch down the Sear properly, BUT it appears everything is very worn out. It shouldn't be nose diving so far down, and getting hung up under the trigger. Luckily I don't actually need to use this frame. Thanks to all for your input
