    Which one to upgrade?

Hey guys Im kinda torn between which of these to upgrade? I have aquired a set of squishy paddles, a lightening rod and vortex mod for the cyclone feed. I have a 98 custom with electronic trigger and cyclone feed. An A5 with electronic trigger and another A5 with a reactive trigger. Which one of these (if any) do you think would get the most bang from the upgraded cyclone feed parts? Or which one would YOU put them on?

Whichever you put them on, make sure you do it correctly. The feeder ratchet spring ground a channel into my vortex mod over the years. It rendered the cyclone useless.
I have every “upgrade” for my one Cyclone. I’m not aiming for 20+ bps anymore so, if they work, leave them stock and play.

I prefer the ergonomics of the 98 vs. the A5, so I would go that route. I have limited experience with the cyclone feeds, but I have heard not-so-great things about the squishy paddles.

This... until you put a spec ops a5a2 grip on your a5.

I would skip the cyclone entirely myself. Paint these days is typically too small for the cyclone.

I was just about to edit my post to mention this too. Standard feed with a good hopper is less of a headache and plays nicer with small paint.

Those are some sweet early model TPI’s. They look to be in excellent condition for their age.

Thanks, I have some newer markers as well but the childhood me keeps going back to the tippmanns and my autococker for some reason.

I would do the 98. I would keep all the old parts just in case the upgrades wear out or break.

I am a little partial to the 98, I think I will use them on that one. They are just backup and loaners so no biggie. I have the original feedneck if something goes south I can convert it back. Not a big fan of the flatline barrels on the A5s but I dont have any straight barrels for them.

Does the 98 work as intended? What performance increase do you expect to see, or what issue are you correcting? Ask yourself these before you change anything. I second the if it ain’t broke don’t fix it sentiment. I’d keep the parts as replacements rather than upgrades. Just my opinion tho, aftermarket bits are fun so don’t let me stop you

The 98 works fine like it is, I just wanted to see how fast I could get it to shoot basically for the hell of it. It never gets used... and I like to tinker. It does have the electronic trigger which I'm not sure what the max BPS is? the cyclone may be able to keep up without any upgrades. I have broken a few balls in it, heard the squishy paddles would help with that, could have also been shitty paint. Anyway it wont be used in any kind of serious play, just mainly a fun project for me. I know if it aint broke don't fix it, gotten myself in plenty of trouble already not following that advice haha.
    Working...
