At long last I own an Angel LED

The first time I played paintball I was fourteen years old. That day at the field I saw Tippmanns, Autocockers, a lone Automag, and there was one man there who had an Angel LED. That man shot the hell out of me that day.

As i went through my paintball journey I purchased at least one of every marker I had envied when I was young, except for an Angel. Perhaps I was jaded by that paint hoser from my first day playing and avoided them for a long time. Now at long last I have come full circle and own an Angel LED much like the one that shot me all those years ago.

This came to me pretty much wrecked. The board actually smoked and sparked the first time I powered it up. Almost every seal in it was absolutely jellied or crumbling. The body is scraped up pretty good.

    But it is shooting now!

Was this the one on the 'Bay?

Glad you've got it up and running. The original Angels are great.

Nope, this one was sitting it in a box for like 20 years. Clearly some box wear from getting shifted around forever and was played with and just never cared for. Came in with a spyder and mag in equally bad shape.

    Ooofff.

    Sick.

    It’s been enoch’d.

    I got 2 stock, 1 enoch.

I gotta admit the 9 volt is convenient.

I love the old look. There’s one on eBay now. Search angel LED.

I remember when these first came out about '97 or so. Two of the kids (I was only 20 at the time, they were in their teens, ha) I was playing with on a team at the time, both got one of these when they pretty much first became available. I was shooting a Typhoon at the time as my primary gun. One of them let me borrow theirs to play one game with. I remember it was practically a magical experience. It shot so smooth and fast compared to the Typhoon, and I ended up shooting out most of the other team because it let me play so much more aggressive.

Decided right then I had to get one too. Put my Typhoon up for sale and bought my first stock LED in the next week or so. I went from that one to an Eclipse LED that was all black, which was strange since most of them coming out of Eclipse were one of their splash anno patterns. I wish I still had that Eclipse LED - I later sold it to buy a silver C&C LCD when those first came out.

Thanks for bringing back those memories!

I'm in the same boat, man. I recently picked up a Speed because I've lusted after them since I first saw Ollie with his blue one in an old FoN video. I had one for a short while when I was playing tournaments, but sold it because it wasn't the "in" gun anymore.

Very nice! Excellent performance from Angels, they are up there with Vikings when they are set properly. Glad you are appreciating one again.

The craftsmanship is fantastic with these. I forgot how solid they feel. Much higher build quality than most of the markers I've owned over the years.

        ha, same story here lol.

i remember back in the day i was playing at Jack Frost in PA(?) and there was a guy with an Angel. I never seen a marker shoot ropes until that point. everyone was intimidated. i was a little kid back then but i never forgot that marker. an Angel, woooooowwww...

fast forward 20 or so years and i picked up an LCD. just so i could have an angel. it was rough and took some effort to get it working again but it wasnt how i remembered it to be. it never saw field play in my hands and i knew i wanted a primary marker. i sold it and kept playing with my spyder VS2. sold that and went to a G6R. never liked the G6R as i felt it lacked a soul. sold that and told myself i was going to get a SB. couldn't find a SB but i did find an A1 Fly Gothic and fell in love with it. it got that same feeling when i was a kid when i saw my 1st angel so, i picked it up and its been my primary marker for a few years now.

all because of that 1st Angel 20 years ago.

LOVE my Adrenalized V6 LED! In fact, once I sell off my flock of vintage Twister cockers, aside from a Prolite or 3 I'll only have it in the gear bag!

Haaa no, but it is an early LED. Back in those days WDP called them V6 in various ads, and that’s what stuck with me.
