"MCB-type" Gun Prices

Is it just me, or have prices for the guns on our wish lists been on an upward trend? Or is it just me?
Tippmann C3 - used to find in decent shape for less than $175.
Desert Fox - I have found them around $200 (give or take)
Palmers Blazer - Could be had for $200 and change.
Air Power Vector - I have found them for under $150.
AGD RT Classic - I have one that was under $175 working.

Brass prices, however, have been strange, but appear to be holding or on the upswing.

Again, is it just me, or are the classics finally getting either rare enough or wanted enough to get some $$$ respect?

I've never seen a C3 under $300
Desert Fox: my internal "price" was always $3-450, I've wanted one for ages.
I'm not sure one Blazers, I've never looked at one before.
Dunno about the Vector either though. I think the last one I saw was $250?
Mags have been upward, atleast on FB.

Haven't seen a Blazer that cheap unless it was an older RF or needed a full rebuild. I think C3's used to go for that price a long time ago, but you don't see much of them any more.

Gun sales were doing really well before Covid hit. Then the market took a dive and I've had to unload several builds for pennies on the dollar. Brass seems to be in a steady stream for sale, but Carters have dried up severely. You used to not be able to touch a KP for less than $450-500, and I've seen multiple go for under $300. Times are tough and I think people who have the patience hold out for top $. I on the other hand, am dangerously impatient and am always chasing that "new build" high.

From my memory when I first started here...

Tippmann C3 - Pretty sure people were throwing these away for like $50 when I first started here, they were considered junk.
Palmers Blazer - Got one for $175 I think, should have kept it as I may never see that price again
Air Power Vector - Got mine for $100 back in the day
Nightmares - $100
RainMakers - $50 to 80
I got a small stack of Thumpers, average price per unit is literally less than $100. Not happening now.

Yeah, stuffs going up. The whole stimulus check thing isn’t going to help either. eBay pricing was always higher to cover fees, but it seems to have a proximity effect on pricing in other areas like forums and FB.

Oh yeah, almost forgot about ebay. Huuuuuuge prices over there in the off chance someone buys it not knowing they are overpaying.

Am I the only one that is annoyed that CCM is selling their items on ebay auctions now and not through the store at normal prices? I am ok with buy it nows because they are a level playing field for everyone, but when a pump handle is selling for over $100, air fittings close to $75, and the frames are $225 it rubs me the wrong way.

They may as well though, if they don't someone will just buy their stuff at retail prices and then resell it at double. At least this way the money is going to them.

I don’t see any problem with what CCM is doing. On top of making more money they’re also making things more difficult for the eBay resellers.

Doesn’t bother me at all. I am happy they are able to make the money and not scalpers. True customers can patiently get parts at normal msrp. I like the small shop you get what you can thing. If they ramped production, parts would loose their mojo.

You're not the only one.

I'd love to try a CCM and see what the hype is all about but they're priced way out of my range and getting higher. Kind of like real estate here in Ontario.

Yeah, COVID really messed with the pricing of a lot of things. Doesn't really bother me much though. I don't need much & the stuff I've sold recently didn't change much in value.

I will say, though, that I'm disgusted at Rainmaker prices. I want one again but you can't find one for under 100 bucks anymore. I'm not paying more than that with the amount of work (read: $$$) needed to make them run well.

Supply and demand. Limited supply demand goes up with prices. Just wait till inflation catches up to all this Monopoly money we just printed. May want to hold onto that stimulus check if you live paycheck to paycheck.

I’m not mad at CCM it’s a business and they are making more producing less. It’s smart business.

Look at the lumber industry they acting like oil tycoons. Holding product because people will pay $38 for a sheet of OSB. Hell there products have an even better shelf life. We still buy it anyway. Just like gas.

CCM regular production is not being sold on ebay.

It is the few and far between marker that was not part of regular production that they occasionally have up there. These are outside of their regular production stuff that rob? or whoever the owner does on his own time.

The regular production is pre sold a mile long and mostly at prices that the new owners could probably flip for a profit because of the delay, and CCM isn't ebaying those guns.

They are the only shop that makes something near-perfect in paintball. They're easy to work with if you call them and place an order or get on wait list for a production run. If you want a new one you can get one and no one is going to cut you in line or whatever. Covid slowed them down a lot but they are still with us making guns we love and haven't raised the price in order to shorten the wait list and increase their profits.

This coming from me, who was a big nay sayer of CCM back before they finally fixed their farty valve when the prices started going up back in like 2007.

Regular production meaning an actual batch run of guns. The stuff they put on ebay are like leftover pile guns that weren't part of normal production for 1 reason or another that bill goes back and puts together for some reason.

Overall the ccm supply and ebay sales issue is shitty and I dunno what to say about it except that when I need a part, I email them and wait until they tell me the stuff I need is ready, and I get it for retail prices and get to enjoy superior trigger frames and pump kits.

but the whole "scene" around the stuff is pretty lame-o

Following up: Have prices for "our type of guns" stabilized? Has anything gotten to ridiculous prices that coax a few of the older stuff out of hiding? Conversely, has the market dropped out of anything in particular?

I haven't been keeping track much lately as I am not making it to the field with what I already have. If memory serves, I may have bought two guns in the past year. Most of what I would want are old guns that just don't sell in my price range.

I went to a BST event at my local field, bought an Automag classic for $100 but a different person was selling a classic mag with a twist lock body for $500 so prices seem highly variable lol

It looks like higher prices coincide with lots of older people returning to the sport, I think there is quite a few people who want something that is customizable in a way that most modern guns aren’t or they have particular nostalgia for something from their past and have the money to pay for it now.

I am part of the problem for sure, my Yellow Shocker probably has about $750 into it at this point after buying it replacing parts, upgrading parts, putting a new cylinder onto the maxflo, etc so prices will raise when people are willing to drop cash on stuff

I am definitely one of those "olds" coming back and wanting something to tinker with, not an "all-in-one" space gun.
