That was my experience back in the day when I briefly had a unibody Phantom with AT. Trying to rapidly stroke the pump handle just made the barrel spastically bounce around, like some frantic, angry paroxysm off jerking-off.

I haven't played OC pump in a long time but when I did I used the auto-trigger when the mood hit. It's pointless in stock class though.

No to autotrigger. I can see some circumstances where they are useful (Ecap’s example) but it’s a crutch for players. Playing pump with a forced-fed hopper and autotrigger isn’t really playing pump.

I’ve got several pumps with autotrigger but either take them off or just don’t use it. Learned to play pump without it, and being a lefty the mechanism are right along my trigger finger.

My current built I did buy a pump rod drilled for AT but only for resale value so it could be added.

I play pump because it’s fun and forces me to save a bit of paint. But at the same time I suck, so if I need To sling a bit of extra paint down range, I’m happy to use auto trigger.

I also use auto trigger when I am way down in the snake with no room to move at all, I can pump the gun with my fingers on the front of the pump handle, and let the return spring in combination with the auto trigger fire the gun without having optimum pump stroke capabilities.

It just kinda makes the gun more versatile for me.

Most of my pumps are Nelson's so auto trigger is kind of baked in.

            Actively USE it? Rarely.

Do I sometimes wish I had it on my sniper? Absolutely. Not being able to run and gun on a speedball field puts me at too much of a disadvantage to be able to justify running pump with those groups of electro players I find myself with.

i do both. since sometimes have to auto trigger to keep gun going when on light hill to take out many fast.

I don't have one on a gun right now, but when I previously had one, I only used it for when I had to shoot a big group of people in the woods after sneaking around behind them (before they turned around to shoot at me). Otherwise AT-ing jerks the gun around so much that I didn't find it useful at all.

Ive always found myself to pull the muzzle around a lot when Ive ever tried ATing. It makes me shoot worse than just about any other format.

That being said, especially with something like a sniper. I can click clack pew pretty damn systematically and get a good rof to the point I can play like its a semi.

My brass stuff on the other hand. Especially my kp, they cock so hard I need to take time between shots, but Im still pretty crappy with them.

Its fun to autotrigger my tigershark. I dont believe ive gotten people out doing it but I can't say ive actually done it in a game either.

I don’t use it but prefer to have it. CCM A/T is so dam smooth you can hammer on the thing if you really wanted to. You can do it pretty accurately to with little practice. It’s great for pump tournaments on the airball field off the break. I was able to shoot people out pretty consistent off the break with mine. It’s really the only time I have ever used it playing pump.

I bet the back bottle set up i run helps alot. Need a stock to really be somewhat accurate with a AT. I do think AT is useful in say like a big scenario game when the other team does a big push and you just need too rain it on them. Or if you want to give cover fire for a teammate to run to another bunker etc.

For those reasons I like them.

"I have it if I need it" is better than "needing and not having it"

Naahh. I mostly throw together a Sniper vs buying a complete marker. Even then, if it is complete, it was built by someone else and never has an auto trigger. Unless I get a CCM, I've always left the AT on. But those are too smooth and expensive for me. Sonny Lopez and the Iron Mans made it a point to not have AT, so I adopted that way of thinking.
