I can’t stip prowling Craigslist for deals. Well, Craigslist, Facebook or Kijiji because no one uses Kijiji locally.

I just can't seem to move on from gear I don't use anymore. I've got the mentality that "I'll probably use it at some point" or "Maybe a friend will need it". Never really the case.

I mostly just can't deal with how bad and unimaginative speedball has become. I love the *idea* of speedball, but the reality... meh. Straight deathmatch is boring. A flag or buzzer that comes into play once a blue moon doesn't change that it's 99% deathmatch and I'm bored over here. I'd much rather go watch pro counterstrike, or play mobile cod.

90% of the paintball I've played was speedball. Played, captained, coached, traveled for tournaments etc. I understand the ins and outs of the game well. I've written tactical guides and spent hours dissecting field layouts. I'm still bored. I ended up deciding the discipline just lacks the depth of most sports.

I just can't abide the notion of shooting at nothing, which is what laning feels like to me. Yes, I realize that area denial can be an important part of strategy. And I know that with the short distances between bunkers in speedball it can be really difficult to catch someone making a move if you don't already have paint in the air. But as a woodsballer, the idea of shooting a sustained stream of paint at thin air just kind of offends my sensibilities a bit. Like there must be a flaw in the game's design if it incentivizes shooting at empty space.

The only exception to that being... suppressive firing support for position movement. And that is at about 1-2 bps, maybe 3, if I have paintballs to waste.😉

I occasionally like to watch some pro x-ball and often find myself wondering what percentage of paint shot was actually fired at visible opponents. I’m sure it’s ridiculously low.

This hits hard. I haven't played in a while but I love my gear. Making a point to get out with people this summer to use some of the gear "I have so I can let friends borrow it"

Yup, people will play more if they had better gear, right? That’s why I have so much nice gear and played 0 times last year….. I’ve even managed to upgrade my lender gear a couple times before I’ve even lent it out.

None are padded, do rec players use padded Jerseys? Most of the time I wear a compression shirt and an Extra Large pull over Jersey (custom "camo" mostly) in temperate to hot weather. In cold weather I will add a long sleeve heavy T Shirt. I gave up on Military camo shirts years ago as they just soak up the sweat and don't breath.

Oh and I can not use an auto-trigger to save my life. Most the time I forget a marker can AT and in the rare occasion I think of it I end up short stroking the pump and pinch a ball so I just don't use them.
The jerseys you get made with team logos and such are usually not on the same level as the major name brands.

Planet Eclipse makes this one and personally I love it. It’s not as padded as actual arm padding but it breaths massively better because of it.
