Tank go boom.

Today at the field it was pouring rain (don't know why anyone came out). Man is walking down the stairs, slips gun goes flying, tank sheers off at the threads. That is all. Just thought I'd put it out there.

IMO this isn't a "tank go boom" accident, this is a dude fell on tank in a way it wasn't designed for, accident. Quite a difference.
I have never actually seen a tank fail that I can recall ATM. I have read about and seen stories. I HAVE seen tanks break in similar ways, make a lot of noise, and not pose a particular problem to onlookers...

side-bar-ish question, but what ever happened to "Stako"? tanks? iirc, you could only get them in Europe, a few made their way over here now and again, illegally. but they were always in old PBN threads about failing hydro, or catastrophically failing. yada yada they were lighter than other tanks at the time, but that was the problem. they were wrapped differently etc. idk anything for sure as i never had any direct experiences with them, but that is wat i was alays hearing/reading. think there was a small write up on them in APG back in like...... 06?
