I think I found a solution to the Umarex shotgun velocity problem.

    Hope people find this helpful:

The Doom music/action sequence was a very nice touch.

Just going to flash the new bling like it ain't no thing...

As far as external velocity adjustment, looks like the best bet would be to come from the top down - rather than from the back, for the reasons you mentioned. The pass-thru doesn't actually need to be air-tight, just tight enough not to cause too much velocity drop. That said, I wonder if you could try adding a Nb magnet to a custom designed flow restriction that would allow you to change it's orientation externally without disassembly, and if that could be done with enough resolution to give you sufficient velocity adjustment.

You'll notice she posed for the thumbnail.

The magnetically-adjusted widget is a really interesting idea but I'm having a hard time visualizing what such a design might look like that couldn't be moved out of alignment by just shaking the gun... unless maybe you were thinking about a little two-part spring-loaded gizmo that can only be rotated when a pin is held out of the way.

Super interesting testing, thank you for taking the time to put this together.

I bought mine with the restrictor already removed.
I get about 270-290 with both barrels round ball and 290-315 with fsr. Same velocity with single barrel.

I don't get that huge of a climb in single barrel, I get about 290-310 single barrel on a fresh CO2 and drips bellows 300 after ~7 shots.
That being said, I think my divider gate leak because in single barrel, the other usually get pushed out ~2fr out of the barrel.

99% of the time I use double barrel round ball, the only time I shoot single is when it drops so low it's unusable

I would love to see an adjustment accessible from the outside ... Would a simple choke screw work?
Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

You might be able to see it a few times in the video but mine also sometimes experiences a partial shot/rollout in the "off" barrel during single-barrel shooting, but I find it really strange you're not seeing the huge velocity difference between single and double barreled modes. I've owned two of these things and both of them exhibited that difference.

Interestingly, the drop in velocity with double-barreled shots seems consistent whether or not there's one or two paintballs loaded- I had expected there to be an even greater drop if one barrel is left empty but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I wonder if yours may have a damaged or missing gasket in the dirverter valve.

I noticed a consistent 20 fps swing from sho to shoot and 40 fps from single to double ...
I Am in California, it tend to be pretty warm and consistent across the day ...

I also noticed the surprisingly small swing from 1 or 2 ball when shooting double barrel.

I've been meaning to open it to check it out ...

I posted the video on Facebook and Glenn Palmer liked it.
                That really made my day.

Great video. I think I'm going to have to pick one of these up over the winter. Looks way too fun.

                    Cool!

If you try to use one of these things, I highly recommend using it with a small dump pouch on a belt so that you can quicky grab paintballs to load without fumbling with tubes. I normally use the same little dump pouch and cartridge belt I use for stock class play.

Also, if you're going to be shooting this in the winter keep in mind that the gun's velocity will likely be lower in each setting than I was seeing during a 95-degree Tennessee summer.

I have a chalk bag that I use for single shot, so no worries there.

I'm definitely going to keep it off the field until the spring. I just don't play much in the winter and can funnel more money into new stuff.

                      I second the dump pouch.
Also, way more fun with round ball than FSR, they are too finiky to load and don't shoot nearly as well as they could with a good FSR shooter ...

I have wield it as secondary to the SSR for absurd load out 🤣

Nice! I remember people spit balling about drilling out the restrictor back when we started talking about yanking them. Glad to see it came to fruition. I’d love to see a 3D printed one too, primarily because I have no idea where my restrictor went

In the meantime you might be able to devolumize the dump chamber with a short length of macroline, or any short bit of plastic too wide to escape down into the gas inlet or out the powertube.
