    MOTM August - STBB

I have run out of the alternate ideas (though abomination is in the running). The Stacked Tube Blowback community in MCB is one of the most active. Lets revisit this excellent group of markers and see what kind of heat everyone is packing.

One entry per user. I'll paste in the rest of the rules eventually.

    Rest of the rules...

    Week One:
Any person on this board may submit an a marker of the chosen category. You will post one photo of one marker. Along with it, you may include a build/spec list. You must own the marker.

    Week Two:
All persons who wish to vote will choose a marker they wish to see move forward to the final poll round of the contest. You may NOT pick yourself in this round. If you already see a marker moving forward, you don't have to post, as you'll have an opportunity to vote the final vote. It only takes one vote here to advance a marker to a final round.

    Week Three and Four:
I will create a new thread titled, [POLL] MOTM [month][category]. In this thread you will be able to vote, in a poll, to determine who has the Marker of the Month and will advance to the Marker of the Year contest.

    Additional Notes:
    - If there is a tie at the end of the poll week, a tie breaker will be held.
    - Only the top 10 markers (with votes) will advance into a poll round. If there are two markers tied for the tenth spot, or three for ninth, etc etc... they will be excluded. This is the easier way to make it work with the forum polling options.
    - With the forums new "comment" feature, it doesn't make my life any harder if you want to commend on a specific marker, but please do keep these to "comments" and not "quotes" or additional posts.
    - Hosting this does get a bit tedious, but I do love hosting and helping be a part of sharing marker photos. However, I do ask that all "posts" only be submissions. As mentioned above, comments are fine.
    - If you win a MOTM contest, you must still own the marker for the MOTY contest or your slot will go to the runner up (this will trickle down). (If second place was tied, the month will just be excluded.)
    - If you have any questions, please PM me.

This is a Canadian-made Spyder clone... more specifically, one made in the Greater Toronto Area of Southern Ontario, Canada, by a company known as Ready Aim Splat, or R.A.S.

The Mk. X series, to the best of my knowledge, was the first generation of blowbacks made by R.A.S., and was followed by the Intruder series before the company ceased to exist.

This example is a Mk.1 that I upgraded to a Mk.3 with the addition of an expansion chamber... Mk.1s came with a SS braid hose that ran from the VA to the duckbill ASA.

One thing I find interesting about these markers is the fact that they're almost entirely raw aluminum with powdercoating... the only anodized parts are the removable components like the vertical adapter, duckbill, powerfeed plug, RVA, and barrel. Even the .45 grip block is powdercoated.

And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Another Canadian Spyder clone, the Mokal Fokus VX. I believe this is a 2K3. A pretty common field rental in Ontario and parts of Eastern Canada. Likely other parts as well. This one has actually never played a game. I picked it up from a guy on Kijiji who bought it for his son who promptly lost interest. Something I've always liked with these is the foregrip being quite far forward.

It's stock except for the 14" teardrop barrel.

My trusty Bob Long Millennium! (purchased circa 1998-'99'ish?)

I haven't had any gear out of the moving boxes in the past couple years, sorry for this crap old picture! but here's the current build list anyway:
                    - Bob Long Millennium STBB (black anno)
                    - Dye Boomstick 16" and stock 12" barrels
                    - Custom-made wood grips enscribed w/ "The Ladies Man"
                    - 4500 45ci HPA air system (NitroDuck!)
                    - 12V Revolution Re-Loader (sound-activated)

Beautiful marker that really made me love the sport from the beginning. Has many a 'notch' in the belt of players eliminated.

Really been wanting to try this one. Light nice looking shooter that is so far been consistent over the chrono range. Quick little shooter too. But have yet to field it, as the dang thing keeps springing a leak when I try too, lol I think it’s afraid.

After my last fielding attempt I Planned on selling. Sick of the low ballers and figured don’t hurt hanging on wall till I decide to give it another go or run it as a loaner.

Well, as usual I have no hope, but I will add this in to drag down a legendary name with a particularly uninspired gun. I present to you, straight from WGP:

Nice, I’m assuming it’s smoother than an open bolt STBB? How does the smoothness compare to an Autococker?

Trigger action for the bolt is stupid fast. Sometimes if you get on it too quickly, it'll get out of timing from the striker. But for what you are asking, the shot quality is pretty nice. It's hard to compare to an Autococker since the firing sequence is different. It's really somewhere in between a well tuned LP Spyder and an AC. Lots of it is because of the reciprocating mass is located differently. (Especially when you are talking about bolt actuation inside the upper tube rather than a backblock.)
