How its been for a long time now. I cant say I havent capitalized on it, but with the discontuiation of the old style of flexes, and the proflex X being released, its apparent that the current supply of older style flexes is it. A lot of people are panic buying cool colors increasing the prices.

Proflexes of rare colors have been of high value for years now.

But either way, deals can be found time to time.

I have a few I need to sell. A Blue IZE and a thin frame JT Proflex. So I hope the prices continue!

eBay prices are a bit inflated, but inline with the general trend. There's a proflex BST page on Facebook with over 10000 members. Prices have cooled slightly since they peaked when stimulus first came out and the stoners couldn't make prudent financial decisions. I got into JT stuff a bit but quickly left because a meh condition old Proshield was only slightly less than the MSRP of a brand new one. The only way to get used JT masks for a decent price was to happen upon it in a classified where it wasn't perfectly visible in the ad.

My IZE came from a local thrift shop that advertised it on Facebook. The thin frames came from a Craigslist gear dump.

Join the Proflex BST group on Facebook and you'll see some true madness. You'll also see a lot of people who apparently flip gear as a side hustle and might not even be players themselves, including some obvious scalpers who will show up right after something new has just sold out with 20 NIB units of it on offer for 3x the retail price. Who the hell is the ultimate target market for this stuff, and where are they getting the money to blow on silly vanity items like having a super rare goggle strap? I remember being a teenage paintballer counting my money at the start of the day trying to figure out how much paint I could afford to shoot and whether I could stretch that to a full day of playing.

The used JT market has been the single weirdest thing to me as someone who was away for 20 years and came back only last year. Not that $200+ hoppers (effing hoppers) isn't weird too, but the Proflex collectors/traders are just bizarre. At first I wondered when and how JT gear had apparently become Air Jordans. After watching this craziness for several months and seeing certain prices spike then nosedive, I've decided that Beanie Babies is a far more apt analogy.

I must confess to a bit of schadenfreude whenever something has been trading well above retail because it is out of stock suddenly comes back into stock and the prices tank. Replacement lenses were in short supply for months, but now ANSgear and everyone else has them again. Oblivious stragglers still pop up on Facebook wanting $80 for a mirrored lens that you can once again order for $50 from a normal retailer. It's kind of fun watching them get dunked on in the comments. Just today some idiot was posting new JTJT replacement foam for something like $50 when you can now buy it for around $15 from several websites.
