Anybody making an Aluminum 45 elbow

I see that techt used to make one, and sconi makes a goofy one that angles the hopper back over the gun.

Looking for something like the techt to finally solve the eternally cracked feednecks on my mags and cockers.

I know I know why would you do that to yourself? I’m a dinosaur and love my old setups that I could never have when I started all mech, right feed and old 90 round viewloaders!

I think PTP used to make aluminum elbows but no idea who does currently other than what you’ve mentioned

Maybe Palmer's? I know they have clamping stick feeds and the stock part might just be an add on to an elbow.

I know its not aluminum, but rhe app atomic elbows are my favorite second to the sconi ones.

I dunno why you dont like the sconi lean, i personally love it, but the app elbows are tough if sconi is a no go for ya.

But app elbows are flexy, and unbreakable you can jam them on the marker and hopper and they hold hella well.

Came here to recommend the APP elbow as well. I hate the lean style. It messes with my OCD. Lol

Here you go. I have no experience with the elbow.

          Thanks everyone!
That python looks identical to the TechT one wonder if they took it over or something. will pick up a couple APP elbows as well. not overly concerned about material - durability is king.

I'd get some APP Atomic Elbows and some hose clamps for it. The things are indestructible, I really don't think you could crack or break one. I use them on all my mags.

I second the atomic with hose clamps.

Only reason I like it better than the Pro Team is because the pro team clamping area is pretty narrow and my hoppers and feed tubes kinda get stuck before they get seated down to the area BELOW the clamp and I hate that. Good for smaller hoppers.

I like the Pro Team elbows but always modify them to replace the tightening mechanism with hose clamps and shaving the ends of a little. Like the Atomic elbow that are made of tough plastic not brittle like many of the other ones but they do need modification IMHO where other than adding hose clamps Atomic elbows are perfect "out of the box"

Yup, Atomic elbows with hose clamps really are the way to go. Aesthetically aluminum elbows can be neat but when you use them the feed neck of your marker becomes the weakest point between the marker and the hopper [i.e. during a drop or landing wrong] and will be the first thing to break. With a good plastic elbow they tend to just pop off or bend vs. a damaged feed neck.

This is what I was going to post. If you’re breaking multiple plastic elbows then what that means is that if you upgrade the elbow you will now be breaking the gun instead next time you are rough with it.

There are multiple reasons why the drive shaft in a pickup truck is so lightweight and fragile. The main one being that it’s the cheapest part of the entire transmission so you actually want it to break there, even if you don’t realize it.

We do similar things in the factory. We use plastic couplings and brass shaft keys, so if anything binds, you just end up breaking the plastic or brass, instead of burning up the motor or damaging anything else.

Ive been lucky in the fact that atomic elbows fit both markers ive used em on tight with no clamps. Minimag, and my mac 1 annie. The mag feedneck was stretched out to fit a rotor. The one on my annie fits tight on my vl2000, so I exclusively use it with that. Neither needed hose clamps. I am not a fan of the look of hose clamps which is why I use the atomics.

Have you tried VLbows? Not quite as strong as an atomic, but are plenty adjustable.

They crack over time. They're made of polycarbonate, which is initially very strong, but weakens with UV exposure.

Maybe try the Armson/PTP nylon elbows. They hold well and when stressed will bend before they break. I bought some to replace JT/VL polycarbonate elbows that were starting to crack after only a few months.

                    hey -
huge thanks to you all - those atomic elbows are the business! - almost don't need the pipe clamps, made out of a clearly flexible material, no clamps or bolts to loose or tighten! just threw out a pile of crappy elbows and have them for all my loaners now.
