Item sold to brand new ebay account

I just had a pricey marker on ebay sell to an account created today which somehow makes me dubious. I have never really had a bad experience as a seller but just curious what the collectives thoughts are on this.
"but we all have electros and you guys only have pumps, this wont be fair"

    (chuckling quietly) "we know"

Could be bad. Could be someone who wanted it so much they decided to make an eBay account just to get it.

        Ebay has become a cesspool....

I've stopped selling in there because I had too many deals go way sideways and had to start listing every subtle nuance of issue with anything I was selling. I sold a korn tour shirt that someone gave me years ago they had no sleeves and listed it as a sleeveless shirt and the guy went ballistic because the sleeves were cut off. I thought I listed it with a good enough description saying the sleeves were cut but never said off and he ended up fighting for his money back.

I don't know it's just really not worth dealing with some of the level of sketchy buyers lately.

People not reading the description is a big problem. Not even just on ebay. I have a few listings on Craigslist and FB and people constantly ask questions that are clearly answered in the description. Like a truck I'm parting out that says I'm using the chassis/drivetrain.... "how much do you want for the whole thing?" "How much for the transmission?"

People glance at a couple pics, click buy and then go back and look what they bought.

Could send him a message and ask for a phone number to call him at.

I haven't sold much on ebay, but I've bought quite a bit. A couple times I messed up and tried to work it out with the seller and we able to get it all sorted out. A couple times I ate it as I was the one who messed up.

There are some good buyers out there, and there are some sketchy ones.

If you do send it, make sure you take extremely good photos of it. If it does get sent back damaged, you can have documentation of what you sent vs what came back.

Bought a tank recently and the guy wanted to relist it. Newer seller, didn't want to eat it in shipping fees. Ebay now trolls your messages to look for things like that to upcharge on services, so, I told him as such to just ship it without using their labels.

Also bought a lens recently listed as new open box, and when I got it it was used, open box. Was miffed, pointed it out, but just left it there.

ebay can be very shit or miss.

Assume you’re dealing with people as a buyer and not a professional operation.

as a seller assume you’re dealing with a scammer and follow the letter of eBay’s law and you will be ok

With Ebay I never expect anything to be 100% as described when it arrives that way the worst that can happen is they meet my expectations and at best I'm pleasantly surprised.
