I love: the length of the tank, balance on an autococker, and the fact it is adjustable plus the tank did not need oring to screw in tank
Have you ever seen the weight of an Air America Apocalypse
Accucap/Zap tournament pink. RP Scherer gator black. Unique gear. Scott masks that I could use on the field. Tigerstripe neoprene tank and hopper cover. 40 round box feeder covers- remember those?. Those soft elbows- maybe Allen made them? Tanel cleats. Thunderwear gloves (still have a pair and still play in them one in a while). The shorter, fatter 16 oz C02 tanks. Nasty Boys 100 round loaders with the black, not clear lids. OTP barrels for sure. Tigerstripe Products players pants.
Sock hats. There's probably a tutorial on how to make em, but like many things, I hate making my own when a better version existed.
Hybrid's CK ankle socks. Best socks I've ever owned. Only have 2 of my 4 pairs remaining (different designs/colors), and they are ready for the trash but I can't part with them. No sock, before or since, has fit or felt as nice. Pair of Thieves from Target has come the closest.
I miss WGP making autocockers, I miss all the indoor airball fields in my area that shut down. And like others mentioned, I miss paint quality. I could buy a fresh case of house paint back in the day $20 and it flew STRAIGHT, kind of hard but it was perfectly round. Today, doesn’t matter if I get the $70 tournament grade case, or the $25 recball case, dented balls fill the bags, the sizes differ ball to ball. Now paint is so tiny too, I miss the old paint. Seems like everyone Got caught up in progressing the technology in the markers, they ended up going backwards on paint. Also seems like companies got caught in trying to make paintball main stream, they lost their touch with the guys who played for just fun.
Now my friends and I play exclusively for fun. Screw tournaments or competition, just the love of going and Playing walk-ons or scenario ball with markers that make us smile for nostalgic reasons, not because of how “light” or “efficient“ they are.
