Custom Products - Best Bang for the Buck...

But is it just me or do they somehow just look wrong on many markers? I know you really can't beat their functionality and dependability for their price, but sometimes I see them on certain markers and I just don't like the look. Especially Cockers. I was just looking at a sale thread for a very nice AC for sale, and it had a CP reg and ASA. The curvy, slotted look of the CP parts just didn't seem to set off the marker properly. Now I know that they will be absolutely dependable. And frankly that's what matters. Any thoughts? Am I a shallow gear snob? FYI this hypocrite has several CP ASA's. I actually think they work well and look right on Tippmanns. Lol.

I mean, they anno just fine

I run almost exclusively CP. The regs are sometimes a little stiff to take apart the first time but after that they are fantastic. Super easy to work on. The ASAs function flawlessly and the company is great to work with. They even sent me free parts when I was just asking them where I can find them and made it abundantly clear these were used regulators without a warranty.

Until they start making crappy products or their customer service goes downhill I will happily support them. That's the kind of products and service the industry needs

I’ve had the same great experience with them. A couple of used on/offs were missing their pin - CP sent some my way no questions asked.

Trbo323 I have absolutely nothing bad to say about their quality. From their barrels, to regs to ASAs they just WORK just like they are supposed to. I'm just referring to the shape for the most part. And honestly just on the older classic markers, specifically cockers and mags. All of my regs on markers that use them (ie not marker specific or unregulated) are PPS or original WGP. But I have a few barrels and ASAs that have always performed flawlessly. Never needed any support for them.

Always felt the same way. But when its the only thing available in stock, and its $20-$30 cheaper than everything else... gotta do what you gotta do.

I will always be a huge fan of their on/off ASAs and I also like their regs. I'm 50/50 on the looks of their barrels. Sometimes it's meh, other times it works. I like that they haven't updated the look in forever. But the even earlier inception looks cooler to me.

You see a CP Product and you know from a distance it's a CP. I like that. I like that they WORK. Just sometimes I see a sweet marker, with a CP and go ugh lol.

I really like their ASA's and don't really find they look bad on most guns. There's definitely builds where you have to go with something specifically angular or old school that will get different ASA's but I stick to CP's mostly.

The one thing I don't like is their regs. Not that there's anything wrong with how they function. Those regs just came on so many guns and are put on so many builds that they're over played and look like of plain. I'll always go AKA or WGP or something else for a reg.

I didn't care for the early style CP stuff, remember those original HUGE fat on/off asa's that had about double the metal necessary on them? But they cleaned up their style and I think for a lot of mid 2000's guns the parts mesh well with the styling. They always seemed to make Smart Parts guns look better lol.

To me they are like Frank’s Red Hot. I put the $h#t on everything!

Never had a problem with their regs, great bang for the buck and widely available. Hard to get a lot of options up in the frozen north, but CP let me choose colours, lengths etc. I agree their old style giant ASA’s weren’t pretty, but the new style are great. Still prefer screw-on ASA over POPs style.

Now I feel all custom builds are the same with ID parts. ID stuff is great but there is such little variance in build options.

When the first CP barrels came out i absolutely loved them & i always thought they looked good on just about any marker. For the longest time just about every marker i owned had either a CP or SP Progressive barrel on it. I still think the originals look better than the later ones.

I've always loved CP asa's and rail combos. I can't even remember how many I've used on Mag builds. They just work and I think they look good on a mag, on a cocker that might be different. Their barrels have always been the best bang for the buck. They may not look as nice as a vintage All American or Boomstick, but what does?

I agree with OP in the sense that the swoopy curves tend to clash with some of the more complex millings, but I think it's all about what you pair them with. I use CCM HPRs and CP ASAs in tandem because they are both curvy like ladies/portly gents and I like how they look together.
