    Best pump kit...

I suppose "best" is subjective, so this will probably be a discussion more based on opinion. Favorite pump kit, then? And why?

I am most interested in the "why" aspect of this debate, though. In your opinion, what makes a particular pump kit better than the next?

I am most familiar with over the barrel, Nelson type pump mechanisms. I have no experience with the multi-rod pump kits available, but I am in the market for one to put on my Omen project.

The CCM EZ kit looks good and is surprisingly affordable. The PPS S-Rod is about the same price. But I don't know if these are good kits. And by "good" I mean stable, smooth, well-built, and relatively easy to work with/assemble.

The CCM dual rod kits have always been my favorite. The Slice or Splice kits (whatever they are called), the Inception kits, and Check-it kits are all very similar in design.

Inception rarely makes a bad product. I'd go with them if you can't find a CCM kit used.

CCMs, albeit not as "pretty" as others have always been flawless for me.

I like CCM, Inception, And the WGP vendetta style pump kits. I just put a autococker parts kit on a Trilogy that I really like for the money.

I have one of the cheap Trilogy pump kits sitting in a box for a Spump project... the rod that connects to the back block is too close to the pump handle support/guide rod to work with the spacing/diameter of a Spyder's lower tube. So I have to invent a spacer to push the pump rod further away from the pump handle rod. If that makes any sense.

I am concerned about the spacing of the pump rod in relation to the pump handle guide in working on my Omen project. So I want a pump kit that could be relatively easily modified to accommodate a larger gap between the rods than normally found on Autocockers and Autococker pump kits.

It might be as simple as a new back plate for the pump handle... I don't know, yet. I currently don't have a multi-rod kit to fondle.

For the most part, it comes down to the shape of the pump handle. Personally I think the CCM EZ is the most comfortable, with the Inception Drift kit being very close if not equal. The slice kits are comfy but feel really cheap. The standard CCM kit is probably my least favorite (at least in terms of dual rod kits), though they are very well built.

I second the EZ pump. I’ve only tested a Splice kit and it was nice but prefer a solid hand over modular (personal preferance though). Years ago had a White Wolf kit I reall liked. I could quickly spin off the pump rod from the pump handle or back black and made remove very nice. Never came unthreaded during a game either.

I really did not like the design and feel of the Inception kit. The OG WGP kits are super simple and can work great with a larger OD barrel. I have used CCM kits many times in the past and recently got one that for some reason did not feel that great vs the Check It kit that came on my most recent sniper build.

I always thought "meh" towards most Check It stuff, but their "tactical" pump kit - the CCM knock off with big ol o-rings on the pump handle - is somehow just perfect on this sniper. Preferred over the CCM, it somehow just all works together better. Sure, the quality is not as nice as CCM but it's still great.

The CCM EZ is the best thing I've used. Absolute butter.
