Hall of Shame #4 - That One Gun…

For the latest version of Hall of Shame we’re going to talk about that one (or maybe a couple) gun in your collection you keep, but really shouldn’t. And we’re not talking about pretty wall hangers here, more “this is a total POS but I still have it.”

    For me I have two.

    1) A crappy Spyder knockoff that was the same as the first paintball marker I owned. EPi2 or or Pie2 or something.

    2) Tippmann A5 - I’ve had various A5s for a long time but this one was supposed to be the one my dad used on my stag 10+ years ago. But at some point I switched to a slightly newer newer style-A5 body so it’s not even the same gun, but the internals and accessories are the same at least. I should really just strip the good stuff and get rid of it.

Rize maxxed that doesn't work (board issue, leaks) and a Gog Enmy that has a crossthreaded bolt.

Brass Eagle Tigershark my very first paintball gun. Have a bunch of Raptors too. I have a soft spot for cheap Brass Eagle markers they've arguably done more to get people into paintball than anything else.

They don't work, never have never will, but they are still neat to look at.

I had LNIB blade II a couple years ago. Looked awesome as hell, but it was completely horrible. I used it enough to figure out the biggest issue was the reversible breech and detent system, which in turn forced it to use a bolt that encouraged blow black up the feedneck. Just a truly unusable piece of paintball equipment.

I bought a brass eagle talon from a buddy for 5 bucks at a local big game. Deal was I had to use it at least one elimination at that game.

It was my first marker I got as a kid so I was all in.

I played one elimination, and ended up shooting a teammate whom had gotten behind the firing line and rushed back into my range as he retreated.

In that big game you are out if you feiendly fire someone. ... soooo that was my one elimination.... and its sat in the room of doom since.

I recently went through and axed all the guns that meet your description except for one: A Sniper 3 that hasn't worked since 2005.

The long story is my dad took me to Castle Conquest back in 2005 when I was a junior in high school. He wasn't into paintball but had a business trip on the east coast so he took me along without bringing a gun or anything. Day of the game he bought this ratty sniper 3 from S7G (was a member on here) and played that day and the next day with that gun. When I got back I messed around with it some to try and fix it up but it's been a parts bin gun ever since. Maybe I'll put it back together this year.

Brass Eagles. A Poison, a Barracuda, and a Stingray I think. They were crappy guns from day one. Doubt they work. Don't know why I got them but they're not even worth the effort to sell so they'll just sit in the pile until I die and all my crap goes into a dumpster.

I feel like I should own a Barracuda just because...

My first paintball gun was a Vulcan pump gun made out of pure plastic. The plastic broke all over but I still have the valves, thinking I'll have a use for them some day.

I also have a Vulcan from when I was a kid. Mine still holds air and shoots.

I bought a spyder aggressor xt because it was my first gun and I wanted another one. I don’t really use it but it’s not worth enough to get rid of.

            Probably my A5. It needs…something…maybe an o-ring or sear work…or a spring...I don’t ******* know.

I had every intention to literally just GIVE-IT-AWAY, and it’s not working so I just haven’t. It is what got me back into playing…..

I’m actually not even sure where it is right now….

A PGP and PGP2K that I was gifted which I started as project guns but found didn't work well when I tried to play with them at Slim's (pre-pandemic).

Milsig mk3 that I haven't played with in a long time. Was thinking of selling it and upgrading to a newer milsig but want to keep the smoke mags (would need square head adapters) instead of going to the newer black ones.

A 2003(?) prostock I bought to learn about tuning cockers while I built my FBM cocker project.
My FBM cocker project that I never did get to work properly and never got around to swapping out the front block stuff to see if some of it was just faulty.

My hammer 7 which I've almost never used. (gave all of the cool parts to my buddy after I failed to complete the stock retrofit on his H7, including all but 1 of the mags).

... I have more hall of shame than I have working guns... (Ego7, DSG, phantom)

Oh and there's the Sterling I was given for SS last year which is to be decided because I haven't played paintball since pre-pandemic...

                I have two.

JT Excellerator 6.0. My first "decent" paintgun. Received as a birthday gift in 2003. Sot a lot of faces with it & it served me well while playing in our local league. Has been non-working since ~2012 or so. Can't bring myself to get rid of it. Not to toot my own horn, but I actually gained a small reputation on PbN for being the Excellerator guy. There's a number of quirks with these that not many people know about. Not that the knowledge is relevant these days, lol.

2k2 ICD BKO. Randomly bought from Rainman229 sometime around 2008. He cut quite a bit off the body & I thought it looked cool, so I bought it. I traded it to a teammate, traded to get it back, built it up, sold it to a member here, bought the body back. Slowly building it up again. I've owned way better electros, but I just really like this one. It will take a lot for me to get rid of it.

I had 2/3 of a B2k in a box for like, 7 years. I left it in the attic after that house got foreclosed. Currently, I have a stingray I'm "working" on.
