Longest drive you have made to poach gear?

    My story,

December 2014. I see a Craigslist post for a cache of paintball gear. Included in the haul is a Chipley Factory team gun. Jason Chipley made 5 of these.

The seller won't ship it. Its a 3 hour drive from my house. He won't hold it for me until I am on the road.

A buddy and his wife and dog keep me company on the the round trip after work.

I posted pics on Custom cockers the day following. A fellow collector and friend calls 45 seconds after I post to give me a broken hearted jealous ear beating.

    What's your story?

Uhh. Ive lost count, but Ive deiven 2 hours each way many of times to snag gear.

One that sticks out is a geo 2.1 I spotted in North Dakota ( 4 hours each way) for 150 bucks years ago.

I messaged the seller, and had it locked in, but I really didnt want to make the drive. I messaged a good friend whom also needed a nice gun. I had him pretend he was me, he made the drive, he bought it,and he still has it to this day.

Four hours with a two car convoy. Granted it was buying an entire store.

I bought out the remnants of a store and field as well.

The haul was in Winnemucka Nevada. A buddy in Reno picked it up. He made a work trip to Sacramento and 2 other friends met him with a truck and trailer. They got it all to Napa.

I don't count that one, as I was never the wheel man.

      About 14 hours each way.
Before Splattt passed away (RIP) He liquidated all his old stuff, and I bought it all.
The only thing in the lot I actually wanted was the original Carters Commandos Banner.

Not an entire... Just the remaining inventory sans rental guns. I had just sold off 200+ prolites and I didn't want to do that again

I would have no problems driving across the country to procure something I'm after.

My story is probably unimpressive compared to what I suspect you guys have driven, but a 1 hour drive one-way to a town called Ajax which is east of Toronto for a smokin' deal on a banzai splash minimag was my longest distance grab ..... I had to have it!

that was pretty irregular for me....usually if the distance is too far, its a deal breaker for me

Only one hour away, but Danger was eminent while driving late at night to a gnarly neighborhood to meet a masked hooded figure in the dark on a dark street...That's my scary story.

But ultimately he was super nice and we will probably end up playing paintball together one day and I got a Smoking deal on two nice Cockers... I will post pics as soon as they are put back together...

6 hours to get a huge lot from Craigslist (classic Timmy, flatline cocker, all sorts of cool OG gear), but it was technically on my way to camp so I don't know if it really counts.

Longest drive I made was about an hour, technically. A pawn shop posted a Y-framed reverse minimag on a local classified, I called them and had them hold it for me. I was already about half of the way there for a woodsball game that morning, drove up to grab it and drove back. Or tried to drive back, the seal on my radiator cap broke so my jeep basically boiled a freshly filled radiator in about 2 minutes. Ended up having to park the jeep, get a ride home, and tow it back the next day.

I also found out that a teammate of mine was also going to go buy it, but I snagged it and parted it like an asshole instead. I felt bad about that fo years, so la year ago or so I bought a Z framed mag and gifted it to him.
