    500 shots at 6bps? It's a rental with a 48/3k

Not to mention, I'm sure this is just the smoothest action ever

Another thought that comes to mind is a mini compressor strapped to everybody's back, powered by lithium ion batteries, bringing back the glory of remote lines.

On-gun or mobile mechanical compression will never gain traction for the same reason we're moving towards a battery charge to power cars away from mechanical power creation. It's way more efficient to store a charge on the mobile units (air tanks) than it would be for each mobile unit to dynamically compress air for each shot. It would be moving in the wrong direction. What I do expect will happen is smaller CU tanks with higher pressures as material technology continues to improve.

The problem with that though is the compressors and hydro testing

For the most part, each field would need a new compressor and the amount of places that can hydro test above 4500 are scarce.

Hell I'm in the Portland or area, major metropolitan area of the country, I'm now down to 2 places in the whole region that can test my tanks as is

This doesn't solve any problems and just introduces new ones. IF fields already didn't have compressors, IF scuba tanks and fill stations didn't exist for outlaw ballers, IF air had never been introduced, then sure this might have worked.

But as it is now I just see one hell of a recoil device that'll probably be heavier than our current lightweight tanks.

Oh, not to mention that thing is just begging for o ring failure from the heat created by the compression and the friction.

Yeah, my post was intended to highlight the absurdity of it.

This winter I picked up a "forbidden bb gun " to mess around with....i have to say even the simple blowback operation of a spyder or 98 custom is way more satisfying than the "Wunga , wunga, wunga...." sounds those gears make in an AEG !!

Idk if you guys have ever taken apart an airsoft gearbox. My advise is don't. But even the main spring in those is under some pretty heavy tension, I can't imagine what 12x that would be like, basically car suspension spring.
