    Batteries, who needs batteries

So, I'm finally ramping up to make batteries for the vanguard markers but I know it's not the largest market out there so that got me thinking, what other markers need rechargable batteries that can't be had any more?

I seem to have a decent grasp on what's needed to put batteries together, so what other players do you think would need batteries?

    Anybody with a Raceframe?
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

      Definitely a niche market.

      I'd be in for this.

The only other marker that comes to mind for me is Angel, and I am sure that niche is well covered.

I've got an Angel LCD with a dead battery, but otherwise in splendid condition. I know there are several mods out there for both 9V and other battery options, but I am a total sucker for keeping and/or restoring markers to as close to stock as possible.

So if you're mainly referring to those options, I'd be more interested in what Trbo323 might whip up, hopefully as close to the original battery as possible.

There are several people who do Angel repair that have these available, and if you have something like batteries plus nearby and hands on the original battery they will build it for you while you wait. Obviously, if Turbo is making a good quality batt at a good price it would be better IMO to support the "small guy" than some corp monster. Batts + will eat you up on cost, for sure.

I would love it if someone made a Halo battery with a new battery door that had a USB port on it to charge the battery, but I couldn't imagine that selling all that well. The E-mag is the only battery I ever had trouble finding that I needed though.

I would look into doing loader batteries too. Lithium rechargeable like Boost did way back when.

You could attempt to make a 9.6v block for spyders with a reverse polarity battery lead on it so you can simply snap the battery pads together?

the spyder crossed my mind but with 18650 batteries having a nominal voltage of 3.4v (around 4.2v when completely topped off), it would be hard to get 9.6 out of that. also, no way its fitting in the grip.

MiMh batteries will work for the spyder but the cells are 18670 (longer than the 18650's) and youd need 8 of them. youd probably be able to play a whole season with one pack but its add weight and will take up allot of space. lol

the angel uses NiMh batteries as well and you would not be able to use the integrated charger circuit.

to get the most out of a lithium ion "pack", you will need balance leads. the lower tube in the angel is tight too. not impossible but will take some "doen".

the Halo might be a good candidate. it uses 3 AA batteries (1.5v series). you could see if it runs on 4.2v instead of 4.5v and whip up a 2s pack for it.

Yeah there's lots of problems with the spyder batteries. I thought about that. The space limitations and voltage requirements are just a few. I don't think there's a huge market anyway since your can go to any store and get a 9v that will enable the marker to work.

I thought most frames won't work on a standard 9v.

I was told that Batteries plus will make them as well as any battery. I'd rather give my money to someone in the PB community though!

I am not sure if anyone else makes them. I was told there was a member here who knows someone who makes them, but I didn't check yet.
