with all this renewed interested in double barreled paintguns lately, it got me to thinking: What is worse, being shot at by a double barreled paintball gun that can shoot 10 bps, or a modern spacegun shooting 20 bps ?

What hurts the most is getting shot by that guy out on the field with a single shot pistol.
Never seen it happen in person... I'm starting to think it only exists as an ethereal concept in the hivemind of the MCB collective, like PPS products not leaking and Thumpers working.
Having shot people with a double barrel marker, I can tell you I feel bad when the person being shot gets two in the leg side by side. So maybe it hurts me more than it hurts them?
That was a great showing of single shots in open play! Space boys didn’t want to battle. Hell, I rocked that single all day it was shooting great. Single shots are out there Jordan, maybe you’ve just got to rock one to conjure others. If you build it they will come…
This is so situational. It could go either way. But in my opinion, Id say the space gun is worse for most scenarios.
A 10 bps double is likely harder to wield. Meaning they are less likely to super run you down and lace your back side.
further more, if they happen to hit you with both balls, odds are they aren't going to give many if any bonus balls.
Ive accidently lit people up running a string on them with my ego, wether on the run, or long range pray stuff. But Id end up hitting someone ankle to chin with 5 or 6 consecutive shots. Same has happened to me. Even with the fastest reaction times at 20bps, you have 5 or 6 in the air following the last one at any given time. Vs a 10bps double you are likely going to have one follow up shot bringing 2 more balls down range.
now. If you are strictly talking being hit with 2 balls consecutively vs 2 balls off set by a few milliseconds. Then a double surely sounds worse.
When playing with my double barrel, I have guys tell me they see the one ball coming at them. They dodge their head one way only to be hit by the second one and wonder where that shot came from. Then they remember there is a guy out there with a double barrel.
Never been shot by a double but have shot people with one. Most don’t notice a difference if they get hit by two at a time and usually it’s only one ball out of the two making contact.
Getting shot at or shot with 20bps doesn’t happen much any more but it used to be the norm years ago. Getting hit with a rope at that speed sucks but ya live through it and move on. Most people are not out to cause harm to anybody.
Yeah I got to say the last couple times I played, the ones that could do 20bps, were not doing that. Even the younger guys seemed to be picking their shots, trying to actually aim or laying down good cover fire, instead of spray and pray.
I remember playing years ago and watching guys shot a hopper out in seconds, keep the lid open so they can dump their pods quickly. Usually they trying so fast half the paint end up on the ground.
A buddy of mine got a nice rope of shots across his body, 5-6 shots from his waist to his shoulder.
You know what, as long as it's quality paint and it breaks I don't care how many balls you shoot me with. It's this dammed "field grade" paint that all the fields sell cheap that are basically marbles that I hate lol. Had one bounce off my head last week and I still have a knot there lol...
Chuck E Ducky I usually played mid in our local speed/recball league years ago. We allowed whatever you wanted to bring. I've been stitched up too, but I developed good situational awareness in the process, lol.
